Offline | I think the other option was the rain-sensing wipers. My best guess is people got their proverbial panties in a wad when they found out they couldn't get that option so MINI just figured it's easier to take it away. Just a hunch anyway.....or it's going to be past 9/02 before it's available |

Offline | That really torques me. I don't know why but the heated windshield was a major selling point for me on this car. Aside from the fact that it is a MINI, I really liked the ability to get all those features/options usually found on cars twice its cost. Argh, I would really like a confirmation on whether or not this option has been totally deleted from the future of the MINI line-up or whether we are just gonna have to wait for a few more months... It just torques me... ![]() Probably a Cooper (really want an S though) Jet black with black roof (w/ custom pearl clear coat over custom metallic-in-clear bonnet stripes)only noticable if you look real hard for the stripes... Premium Pkg Sport Pkg w/ Sport's Suspension Cold Weather Pkg (wait until sept / oct build to get heated windshield) Last edited by apache : Apr 11th, 2002 at 04:24 PM. |

Offline | I understand your frustation but consider this: The Cooper S will still be lighter, handle better, have more style and features than the VW even without a few options. It also has features that very few other cars anywhere have (i.e. run flat tires). |

Offline | Please play nice; don't let ego's get involved on this topic. Personally, I was #3 on the list at my dealer for an S. Could have had one in late June. I want A heated windshield and HK stereo, so I delayed my build until September when these options will become available. You can see why some of us are upset as I have had my order in since last June 15th and a further delay would be cruel and inhumane.. ![]() 2003 S, Electric blue white/roof, Premium, Cold Weather and Sport packs. Offline | Just got a response to email from MiniUSA.com. Looks like the options will be available in September as MiniMoke has said. Here it is... Hi Nick, These options will be delayed, and it will resume in a few months. Our planned introduction for these options is in September 2002. You should check with your dealer to see when your #165 is coming up to see if you can get these options specified. Hope the unavailability of these options won't keep you away from the MINI. LET'S MOTOR. Wayne MINI Customer Relations --Original Message-- Wayne, I see that the heated windshield and rain sensing wipers have been removed from the Cold Weather package. Any plans to make either option available latter on in the model year? Nick Holhut, #165 on the Cooper S list at Patrick Mini in Schaumburg. Offline | I do have a piece of information that might make you feel a bit better. When I spoke to my salesman about getting the cold weather package, he told me that, essentially, the windscreen has a wire similar to the standard rear window defroster, only finer. When he drove one in San Francisco with this feature installed, he said that he had a very hard time focussing, as the eye constantly adjusts from the road ahead and the wire right in front of you. Perhaps this is a reason why the feature has been delayed? Cooper, CVT Pepper White, black roof & mirrors, chrome trim, Xenon headlamps, foglamps US Premium & Sport packages, 16" 5-Star wheels, DSC, black profile leather, heated seats "I'll drive." |
