Offline | My father has a new Harley but I'm really not into it. I like the Japanese sport bikes much better. Its a totally different kind of experience. You just kind of cruise around in the Harley while a Honda CBR will tear up a track. |

| vroooooommmmmm | "Just finished a website for a HarleyDavidson dealer and got quite acustomed to the bikes and kit! Just toying with the idea of getting a Harley! .... a MCS and a Harley on the drive a nice combination ?" Wait, you live in the UK where you can get Triumph, BMW, or Ducatis super cheap and you want a Hardley Decidestorun? I live in a town where one of the HD factories are, so they're all over the place here, and they drive me nuts! Now I do have a Buell, which although is made by HD, is still it's own little division (kind of like BMW & Mini.) But the HD people where I am tend to look down on you if you ride and it's not a HD. Even if it's made in the states (like Polaris or a one-off custom) it's still not good enough. To me the Euro bikes are much better made, much better running, and have much better service. But then, that may just be me. Maybe it has to do with the relative rarity of HD over there, vs. the relative rarity of Euro bikes over here. Either way, do what you love, ride what you will, and keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up! ![]() Baxter '05 EB/W MCS |

| vroooooommmmmm | LOL, how funny - that's one of the lines that the plant here in Kansas City makes (along with the sportster and dyna). As far as I know they are the only production location for the VRod. In the US they are also mocked by the "hard-core" HD people. "That ain't no real Harley! It's got a radiator! No real Harley is fluid cooled and a 60 deg V twin!" Sometimes I am embarassed at the lack of intelligence and diversity among riders. One thing to keep in mind if you haven't actually ridden the VRod, it is said to be great on straight runs but dodgy in the corners. Ummm, think MCS in the straights and Land Rover Discovery in the twisties. ![]() Baxter '05 EB/W MCS |

Offline | I paid less for my Cooper with chilli pack than the cost of a V rod!! Nice looking bike but very restrictive to ride on UK roads and not worth over £14,000 in my opinion. ![]() |

Offline | I think once you get used to the way a MCS handles the twisties...that it would feel very disappointing to be riding a hog. I mean the idea of a motorcycles is to risk death in order to have more fun...not less, right? Just my 2 cents worth. <----owner of MCS and Discovery ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Just got back from a cross-country trip - New York to California. While in LA, I thought "what if I got a Harley for commuting to work in LA and reserved the mini for periodic commute and real driving?" I say real driving vs commuting, as sometimes a commute is 1st and 2nd gears only (for miles and miles...) thoughts anyone? Indi Blue/white S, moon roof, DSC, fog lights |
