Apologies

Hi out there. Sorry I annoyed so many of you with my first post. I read the things one ought not do when I signed up, and being controversial was not prohibited conduct. My opinions were honest misgivings about a car I am seriously considering. Lines like "I wanted to like it" and "my love affair with the Mini" were intended to convey that I am not just some other brand renegade infiltrating your Mini domain. Your passionate support for the Mini is a plus since passion for a car is one thing my post said would not be there in a Honda Accord. In the future, I will try to explore specific issues that will lead me to a buying decision as questions that you can address rather than vague impressions or opinions. Where I'm coming from in this is that an accident has forced me to give up my BMW K1200RS. I'm looking for a car to fill that void. I hope you will stick with me. Respectfully, Richmond

well I can see both sides. your comments were harsh - but some were fair - like the tako being obscured by the steering wheel is true.

I am very pleased to see your man enough to apoligise and hope everyone else recognises this too

Apology accepted. We MINI enthusiasts don't ever intend to be mean spirited but we do eagerly defend the honor of the car we have come to love. Diversity of opinion is part of life and embraced here, but what is perceived as a meritless assault on the MINI is generally going to be met head on with vigor.

As you can see, Mini2 subscribers love the MINI. Notwithstanding its imperfections, most on this site are going to extoll the cars virtues and encourage you to "fill that void" you have in your car lineup with the MINI. I look forward to your further observations as you obviously are still "seriously considering" the MINI.

I hear this from quite a few people, but I dont have that problem, never have. 6' tall here, seat set low, wheel high, seat sort of "mid" range between close and far from the wheel?

thats about the same as my seat. But you have to admit - while its perfectly useable - it could be better.

Admitedly that is splitting hairs though.

Just get a chrome ring on it, that's enough of an improvement for me!

Better than the dual guage pods you get with Sat Nav or the Chrono pack, I really don't get on with those.

Thats why I didn't get the NAV (and the fact that it can't play actual movie DVDs), or get an '05. I like the speedo in the middle.

Motor on

The wheel high part is the difference. I usually drive with the wheel at the lowest, but I noticed that if I move it up, I can see the tach fine!

I'm very impressed! Slate wiped clean for me. Let us know how we can help you in your decsion. Something that you will notice around here is that we are all like brothers and sisters around here. we joke, laugh, and we even squavel amoungst ourselves but if someone comes from the outside and starts blasting away we all stand together and defend our MINI's and each other. That is what is so great about being a MINI owner. Can you think of another car comunity that is like that?
