side markers stolen

I came out of my house the other day to find both of the side marker lights stolen from my MCS. What is with some people? These are not that expensive so why don't they just buy their own instead of ripping off other people. On a good note, there were no scratches or noticeable damage. It seems that these are fairly easy to get off.

Anyone else had this problem? If I buy another set how long will they last before the buggers come back and nick them again? Does anyone know if the normal Cooper side markers fit on the Cooper S? It really sucks that I have to get less desirable accessories so people don't steel them.

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully karma will get them. It hasn't happened to me but to prevent it I would like to wire my car up in such a way that anyone who touches it gets electrocuted.

Its illegal to do, but all you need is a ignition coil and a vacuum line to touch part of the metal, and there it is. I dont think it should be, do mess with my car and you wont have to worry about it. Its a sad, sad thing when a person can break into your house and rob you, fall over something like a kid's toy break his leg or arm and sue you.

Motor on

sorry to hear that, sounds like kids did it? can't imagine there's a big market for side markers... on the good side, yes they do come off easy, so i wouldn't expect any damage.

Sorry to hear that mate, theiving scrubbers!
Yeah the markers just pull out, but as mentioned you would have
been more annoyed if they had scratched your bodywork.

Just makes you mad that someone has been loitering around your
car looking for something to pull off,You can fit a parametric
sensor,(as fitted on soft tops) to bleep if someone is loitering around
the car. i've got one on my Punto Sporting BUT you soon get
miffed when you have to constantly adjust the settings according to
surroundings, as they aren't designed for hardtops.

Keep chin up.

It totaly sux when any damage is done or something stolen from your property. They tried to get the symbol off the boot but broke it and scratched the paint. Now have to get that fixed. I would belive its some punks taking the side markers just like they used to rip of VW and Mercedies logos, some sort of status symbol I guess. The Wheels?!?!?!?!?!? I would say watch E-bay, and any shops around. Thats just plain rude to leave it on Bricks.
