Offline | Went to buy a BMW, came back with a MINI? I have always been amazed when I go to my local MINI dealer. There seems to be a constant queue of people wanting to buy a MINI and the BMW side seems strangely quiet. How many people have gone to buy a BMW and come back with a MINI instead? How many people have traded in their 3 series for a new MINI? Just interested...... Tigger Last edited by Tigger, Eeyore & Roo : Jun 23rd, 2004 at 05:54 PM. |

Offline | Are you about to retire? I dont think I've seen a merc driver below the age of 65! My company car is a merc, and its the biggist pile of c p out there, the quality of the interior is poor, handling is dire, with 17"'s and sports suspension, thank goodness it wasn't my money or else I'd have traded it in 140,000miles ago!![]() |

Offline | I was getting some bits and pieces for my 330Ci a while ago at the parts dept of my dealer, which is in the Mini part of the showroom. Had a look at a Cooper and was immediately offered a test drive by the sales guy which I really enjoyed. Up shot is that I should take delivery of a chili red Cooper in around seven weeks (still keeping the BMW though). Bit silly really, went to spend just a few quid, ended up spending quite a bit more! |

Offline | I dont know if i agree with this, because you see a hell of alot of BMW's on the road now. Me and my girlfreind were out the other day and saw 3 M3's in the space of 20 min's!! I could quite understand some one getting a Mini over a BMW, i think BMW's are so boring inside now, they all look the same. where as with the mini's you can always get new bits and piece's, i mean even simple things now like having the dash the same colour as the outside of the car! |

Offline | I've just ordered an Astro Black Cooper to replace my 3-series BMW when I hand it back to the finance company in August. I love the BM, but the payments were becoming a struggle, so I went for the Cooper as a cheaper alternative, specced it up to the same level as the beemer, will end up being £200 a month cheaper! And the excitement of being a prospective MINI owner is certainly taking most of the sting out of having to give the BMW back... ![]() |

Offline | Traded in my 528 for MCS I was getting bored driving the BMW. Maybe if it had a manual transmission, I'd have thought differently. Had a 323 that I got rid of when my Wife got pregnant. Probably would have kept that had I known my Wife was going to trade her car in for an SUV. As it is, the little guy fits perfectly in the back seat. He's 18 months, but I really think he knows the difference between the SUV and the MCS, which he seems to prefer. |

Offline | Ive had 3 series Bmw's in the past my Dad has one and my girlfriends dad has one, common they maybe but they are reliable handle well and keep there resale value despite them being so common, id certainly have an M3 or M3 convertable over my Mini, then when I got bored who knows - probably sell it and revert back to a MCS or JCW MCS and spend the differance on ME! AMG Merc very nice cars gf's uncle has a cl55 amg and it is nice - but many a motoring magazine states that the interior trim of Mercs is not up to the prestige image Merc is supposed to be and if what ive seen in the A-class and c180's is anything to go by BMW certainly has nothing to worry about - the range toppers etc do seem to have more time spent on them though. If anyones giving away the new McLaren Merc i'll have one ![]() |
