Offline | US Based Mini Cooper CLub Is there one? Can there be one? I was active in the Viper Club of America (VCA) for a long time, and do a lot of Autocrossing with SCCA. Don't see anything here yet like the VCA was. Fantastic group of gearheads with regular meets and races. Would like to see that duplicated here. Looks like a wonderful club in UK, but I'm not going to join if all I get to do is see what a good time you all are having without me. Friday pick up my US Mini Cooper to AX in, as yet, HS class. At least until I add some mods. Bought it farily stock. Wife insisted on the premium package. Bought in Denver and will fly up and drive it back to Oklahoma Friday. Love to volunteer to organize a club, but knowing all the work that goes into it, I'd rather take work direction now rather than to try and lead something. You can email me at rflak@smith.com. Offline | Membership is now open to all our overseas visitors to the site by using the PayPal system. International Membership PayPal We do have a few members over there in the USA and are hoping for a lot more when the car becomes more established in the next couple of months. We are already on the lookout for organisers within the US and Australia to help run ClubMINI2 and will be doing the same for any other country that generates an interest in the club. As soon as the organisers are in place and the membership is sufficient within your country, then you will be having all the benefits that you can see happening for the UK members, including your own meets. In the mean time, we will be keeping you up to date with developments within your countries, sorting out membership benefits relevant to you whilst also sending you your membership cards, packs and magazines on a regular basis. Not a bad committment from a club that's still in it's early stages is it?!?!?!? Go on, join, you know you want to!!!!! The ClubMINI2 Team |

Offline | Pay Pal, Florida, Organi(z)ers Pay Pal: the link that states Join The Club doesn't take me to Pay Pal. Can someone help me here with a link. I'll join ClubMini2 (did I get the case correct?) to show I'm serious, but I really want to get something going more local than Florida: Glad to hear Florida's got a club, is it a 'division' of ClubMini2 (as the asdministrator pointed out to me earlier). Probably better to label such a thing as an affiliate, unless ClubMini2 is organized as a for profit versus a not for profit in the US, which it should be IMHO. There are tax consequences. How is ClubMini2 legally organized in UK? I would suggest a seperate not for profit legal entity here in US affiliated to the UK club, and liscensed to use the ClubMini2 moniker, etc. Shipping charges for periodicals across the pond will eat up our meager profits quickly, or cost the US members more than the UK ones. Send the content via email and have the US affiliate duplicate it and add local news. Requires US Organisers: er...organizers in US...and I would suggest CLubMini2 move quickly to find them and get them in place as sales are increasing quickly. In the Viper Club, we convinced Dodge to include in their sales literature, club applications and the latest monthly letter, for the Viper Club and it's magazine. Eventually the Dodge dealers included in the purchase price the first year membership to the club. Required early action and lobbying, and a US legal entity to impress the MB/Dodge boys we were serious. I'm in Northern Oklahoma, which is central US. Far from both coasts. Anyway, I'd be happy to volunteer to begin organizing something, just need work direction from whomever leads this thing. Times a wastin.' MidAmericaugs |

Offline | im planning on setting up a club for the u.s., not sure how im going to set it up yet. i already have one auto club under my belt so i know most of the details. however i need to know what u.s. members want. fee based clubs are generally harder to run because you need a treasurer most of the time and you need to decide where the money should go to (meets, stickers, merchandise,newsletter)...non fee clubs are nice also but it means that the creator/owners have to bear the burden of all costs for the most part. im currently creating the site...so you guys should see it in a while. while i'll try and make it cater to all mini owners, im more of a performance type of guy so dont be surprised if it moves more in that direction...i like track meets, not just bbq's. uk is great, just too far away."The best change to your car you can make is adjusting the nut behind the wheel" |
