Offline | Born in Ealing, emigrated to Canada when I was twelve. I have dual nationality and now consider myself more Canadian than British. However, I still have strong feelings for the motherland and get back on business now and again. The photos of the trip to the John Cooper Works made me feel a bit homesick as I have stopped at the Pease Pottage lay-by and have stayed in Brighton several times while attending meetings in Burgess Hill and Worthing. Also spent a bit of time in Milton Keynes, Paul. If only it wern't so darned expensive there! ![]() |

Offline | Born outside of Birkenhead to an English/Welsh father and a Greek American mother. Dual citizen. I'm not sure where I fit in your survey, but the UK side of me has generally felt more British than particularly English or Welsh. The Mustang does have a Red Dragon bumper sticker though! |

Offline | As an American who'd have to answer "none of the above" to the poll, I'd only like to comment that the thread on the Works trip made me feel homesick without ever having been to your fair shores. That looked like soooooo much fun!! With more MINIs, Minis, and appreciation of the lineage, it would be a blast to be over there participating in all this excitement. I'm afraid it may take a while here before the concentration of owners gets to a point where that kind of outing will be possible. And it will have to be more regional too. I regret not having more patience about getting a MINI. Since overseas delivery isn't an option yet, I thought about waiting to get one next Spring, taking delivery there, and touring around for a few weeks before having it shipped across. Maybe next MINI! Cheers to you all, no matter which label you choose for yourselves. ![]() |

Offline | To all of you with a bit of Irish..... May I congratulate any of you with a bit of Irish in your blood. Treasure it. Be proud of it (and get yourself an Irish passport....after all, if Tony Cascarino can, anybody can!). In my experience, a person from Wales will say he or she is Welsh, Scottish for a person from Scotland, English for a person from England but British for a person from Northern Ireland (unless he or she has nationalist..note: NOT republican, tendencies in which case it is Irish). The term "British" seems to be an embarassment to a lot of people and seems to have negative tendencies except for NI loyalists cause they're a bit confused in general about their nationality. Why is this? By the way, I'm Irish (right down the line) but live in England and love it. And can you imagine, I came here without a passport or anything...got an NI number and a job...could have even claimed the dole if I wanted! Shocking innit! Definitely the most handsome Mini Cooper driver in the Southwest (if not the world)! |
