Offline | I've just read about a 200bhp Mini that BMW are said to be developing. NOT the much talked about Cooper 'S' Works, but a car developed with tuning company Alpina. The same article also discussed a few more interesting issues. I'll try and get something in the news section ASAP. Sounds cool though! B) |

Offline | I think I may have just soiled myself...... Did you put that together or is that some artists rendering of what it may look like?? It is, in a word, beautiful. -Mike Lusting for an Alpina MINI Cooper |

Offline | All i have to say is WOW. Love the look of the car, rims look great!!! Would like to see it in a solid color though instead of the white roof. I know it is the traditional look, but on the new car i am not as fond of it. Easy after market fix though. I'll try to obtain more info on this car as it becomes available and get it posted in the news section as soon as possible. |

Offline | The picture of the Alpina MINI came from www.bmw2002.co.uk which did not say whether it was the real thing or an artist's rendition. The wheels are 20-spoke turbines just like they used to put on Alpina'd BMW 2002 tii's ... only larger. I think the back wheel looking larger than the front is an optical illusion ... maybe something to do with the way the bottom of the window line slopes from back to front. Although the wheels are nice looking, I'll bet they're a b*tch to clean. Think I still like Minilites better. |

Offline | I measured the wheels on screen and the rears are indeed larger. Whether that's for real or not it looks very nice. I agree that they will be a real headache to clean though. I changed the BBS factory wheels on my e28 M5 because of that too but, I just love they way Alpina turbine style wheels look. I'd just have to live with the pain (heh heh...yea right, pain, that's it....) Mike Charlotte, NC |

Offline | Paul.. I guess you read the article from the CAR Magizine from UK... Let me answer your question.. --It is Cooper S Works. BMW decide to ask Alpina for help, instead of John Coopers Garage. However, John Coopers Garage already working on the after market kit for Mini Cooper S. As you read from the article, BMW decide to use 1.6 litre engine from Tritec after all instead of using their own engine. |

Offline | I think someone is having you on. It looks like a Photoshop special to me. No-one would have the bad taste to put those hideous stripes on a car these days, not even BMW If you look at the exhaust you can see it's a Cooper, not a Cooper S. And there's no bonnet scoop. |

Offline | Agreed, the photo looks like the standard side on Cooper shot we have in the gallery, but 'photoshopped' or whatever you'd call it. I believe that Alpina are working on the 'S' though, they'd be mad to miss that marketing opportunity, if nothing else. |

Offline | I understand that Alpina-tuned cars always have the style of wheels shown and the corporate stripes. I think now the stripes are just done a little more tastefully. |
