I've already read that some mini clubs will not accept anyone as a member who's driving that new german 'car'... I had serious doubts of my own about BMW designing a 'mini' at first, but now believe they did a very good job (although I've not seen one in real life yet). They did preseve a lot of the 'real' mini appearance but seemingly did succeed to put all the comfort of modern technology into the car. So my personal opinion is that the new one is a worthy follower of the classic and should be accepted as a true mini.
What do you think?

Here at the British Mini Club we love the new MINI and are more than happy to accept it into the Club.

I've talked with alot of mini clubs, and they are not banning someone who owns a new MINI from joining the club, but what they are doing is saying that the club is about the classic mini and not the new mini, and thus club stands will only show the classic, activities will be planned around the classic, etc. But NO clubs have said they will not allow someone to join if they have a new MINI. They just won't discuss it in the club as they are denoting their club as a 'classic' mini club.
