Lots of performance figues are available for the Mini, but the one I want to know is how much CO2 g/Km does it produce? Hopefully less than 165 as I don't fancy giving all my hard earned cash back to Gordon Brown in the form of Company Car Benefit Tax from 2002.|(

If I keep my 1996 Galaxy 2.8 the new regs would give a tax equivalent benefit charge of nearly £14000 for the old heap! BMW had better add a fourth buyer profile to their list: Ripped off overtaxed British company car driver!

Solution: Buy 15% tax band low priced (under£10k) Mini or get Company Van. As a van doesn't have enough seats to drop kids off at school on way to work then it has to be a car.8)7

I swept the web, but could find little more than this not very specific information at a site dubbed AutoIntelligence:

The new Tritec 1.4- and 1.6-liter gasoline engines will be highly fuel efficient and produce very low emissions in accordance with European and other strict emissions standards. Initial product plans for the 1.6-liter engine include the next generation of Chrysler's Neon sedans for international markets and the New Mini to be built in Great Britain by the Rover Group, a subsidiary of BMW.

Sounds as if it wouldn't blow out black smoke exactly...

But if its the engine they use in the Neon, there's no promise that it won't blow out black smoke

Just had a reply from Mini. The Mini One will have a 158g/km CO2 output and the Cooper 163g/Km. Both models will comply with EU4 emmissions directives. Havent had chance to work out the UK Company Car Tax yet but it must be fairly low.
