Hi Everyone,

Does anyone think that Indie blue will go with a black roof on a Cooper model. I have only seen it with a white roof.

Are you going to get the sunroof? If so, that really doesn't leave much of the roof on there.

The bigger question should be: do black side mirrors go with the cloud 9 color, because that's what the majority will see, as opposed to the roof. And, as far as I know, you can't get a white roof and black mirrors, or viceversa.

Also, someone posted that the sideskirts are going to be black for all models, but I haven't heard any confirmation on that one.

Now, to answer your question, I think it would look great. But, I'd much prefer the white, as I'm a Penn State grad, so blue and white is a beautiful combo.

Another thing to think about is this: with most companies, black mirrors indicate the base model. Don't know if you care, but you might get people thinking that you got the base Cooper with the black mirrors. Just a thought.

Just get the Cooper S ... with a hood scoop it won't be mistaken for a base model! 8)7

Is it just me or does the MINI seem a little too shiny at times? I mean, some chrome is nice at times, but looking at some of the show shots, when the light hits that front grille, it is almost blinding. I think it would look better if the paint were a little more matte and the chrome were brushed aluminum or something like that.

Wait a minute Scott - you're from Las Vegas and you find the chrome on the MINI too glitzy?!

The Classic Mini Coopers from the 60's are just awash in chrome inside and out: grill, bumpers, headlight rings, door handles, boot handles, wiper arms, badges, switch gear, ash trays, window frames, gear lever, etc. To me, the mild use of chrome accents on the new MINI seem to suit the design of the car.

I would draw the line at chrome wheels though - a little too "pimp-mobile" on any car.

I try to stay away from glitzy Las Vegas as much as possible

I understand mild use of chrome... It just seems a bit drastic for my taste.

A real Mini has a chrome bumper, grille and headlight surrounds:

About the mid-70s car manufacturers stopped making cars with chrome bumpers (because of safety regulations and repair costs). Now all you see is body color bumpers, which I think are boring. I love the chrome accents on the MINI.

Yeah, that does look nice. I guess it just depends on how the light hits it.

I sure hope I get to see a Mini, new or old, when I visit Scotland next June...
