I've been invited on thursday by Auto Express to go down to a track in Surrey and take the car for a spin! There was a posting about the ad in Auto Express on this board last week so maybe theres still time for others to get their name down... Sounds like it should be a good day, and taking any car, let alone a Cooper on a racing track would be awesome!
Anyone else coming?

I did see that post - bit short notice for me now. Hope some of you others will get onto it - should be really good!

If it`s in Surrey, it could be at DERA Chertsey in Chobham, I know that the motoring press, including TopGear etc, use it quite a lot.

I spent a few hours there earlier this year at one of the Clio Renaultsport V6 Experience days driving both the (awesome) V6 and the 172.

If you`re going to be punting the MINI there (at speed) - you might need to take a change of under garments!

Do you know yet whether it IS Chobham? Keep us posted! :P

Yes it is Chobham, just waiting for details to be faxed to me now...
After reading Mini2's Italy review I am eagerly awaiting this drive 8D

Anyone heard any more about gaz`s trip to Chobham - due Thursday (tomorrow) to test drive the MINI c/o AutoExpress? Didn`t hear from gaz about it since he said he was waiting for faxed details on Monday!!

Anyone know ANYTHING about AutoExpress`s plans for the day?

Well thats about all I know really... It's near Chobham, just off the M3, it's MoD territory, and I've gotta get there for 10pm (ooh the joys of the M25 in morning rush hour!!!). No idea how many people are going to be there or what I'm doing, but so long as I get to give the MINI a good tonking I shall be happy

I shall report back thursday night on what happened and hopefully have some pics for you all to see. I shall try to answer some unanswered questions as well, such as the alloy question!
