I've found my Mini dealer to be really helpful and honest. When I heard that I wouldn't be getting my Cooper until mid August-September I was almost fuming. I went in to see him and he explained everything and now I am as happy as pie.

Originally I was told that I would probably be able to pick my Silver and Black Chilli up on July 7. But dealers are getting only FOUR cars each. Two are for the showroom and the other two for test drives.

If you nag your dealer he will let you have an early test drive so long as you have ordered your car.

Apparently, there will be virtually no secondhand Minis for TWO YEARS after the launch because not enough new ones are being made. And although there is space for more production at the Cowley plant, BMW are not intending to use it...for this spec and price anyway. This is good news for Mini owners this year because if we decide to sell, say, within the next two years, the Mini will hold its price like new. There is no downside to this car.

Totally agree with you Sav. We will have a three year old car that is still selling for nearly £10K. Good Hey! I am buying it for the fun and may keep it forever, does anyone know if the have a engine number that signifies what number off the production line they were? It would be good if you could say MINI 6789 was yours.
