| MINI2 Regular | I really liked being around Portsmouth, I was a geology major, so with the Isle of Wight etc. I had a great time. I worked my summers at John Collier Tailoring which was on the 143 bus route from Copnor at the end of the pedestrian precinct. Strange that you were in this area. I loved the concerts at the Guildhall and the shows at the KINGS Theatre. The night club the "Pomme D'Or" was a big hangout back then, as was the Sir Robert Peel, and the Churchillian.By the way to keep this entry legit I should add that my plate is MINILLA you can just see it in my gallery. My son's MCS is the yellow one plated DDRAIG (Dragon) Which part of Pompey do you live? (My daughter's name is Laura!) ![]() |

| The S stands for speed! | Huge Batman fan, I actually have the license plate that says "BATMAN". I was going to take it off of my truck and put it on the Mini, but I was on the DMV site and got to thinking. Batmobile, Batcycle, Batplane, why not BATMINI? It was available, so I ordered it. I will pick it up as soons as I get a call. Cars here, just need the plate and a few other minor things. Motor on |

Offline | Thats so cool that we have these things in common! The two pubs are still here but have been taken over by the 'locals'. I don't know where the "Pomme D'or is or maybe it was on the seafront, all of those night clubs change their name every few years! Now the university is much larger and the guildhall surroundings have been converted into bars and clubs! I don't know if you know the big leisure centre (Mountbatten Centre) up in North-end by the grayhound race track? I live behind the big field on Northern Parade! I love Pompey! Thanks ZYO! Thats great! I just need to save up the cash now! I would love that number plate and not to popular yet I think so still cheap! Maybe a joint birthday and Chrismas present to myself? Thanks for looking! Where did you find it? What website? |

Offline | Damn the lot of you, and damn these forums too…. It seems that just about every new thread I read I end up adding something to my MCS spec – I’ve just ordered a reg from DVLA (MC54 MOL – Mol being the Mrs’ nickname). But what a tedious experience! It was like talking to a Welsh automaton! I’ve never been through such a bland, laborious and scripted phone call. I can understand that there must be a lot of obligatory stuff for them to say, but this even made supermarket announcers sound enthusiastic by comparison! And some of the questions seemed a bit weird – “What is the significance of the MOL?” “What is the significance of the MC?” I guess this is just so if I said “I want to make the 5 look like an S for Mini Cooper S” they could tell me I wasn’t allowed to. Wonder what the X5 driver said when they asked him the significance of W44 NKR?
