Phone call from dealer about 1st service

About a month ago I got a call from my dealer saying that my service was due in February as I was not in he left a message saying would I give them a call to book her in.

So I did. Its due in on the 20th(Tuesday) but ive only done 5800 miles and my service indictor says I have 2250ish miles left to my 1st service.

Is this normal?

According to your profile your car is only 10 months old, so I can't imagine why they think a service is due.

I did see somewhere that you should get the oil changed after 2 years, even if the indicator says you still have some miles to do.

I've done 8725 miles, and it shows 2625 to the first oil change. It also shows 32 days to brake fluid change.

Thats what confussed me Red. He defo said that my service was due in February but ive also read on here (i think) that someone turned up for their service and got sent home as their service indictor said it was not due for another 2000 miles. I do not want that to happen to me as i work nights and i dont finish work till 6am and its booked in for 8am so i dont want to be going to my dealers for 8 only to get sent home which means i will be really annoyed as i will be half alseep before i set off!

1st service should be 10,000 miles ( or less/more if the service indicator says so) OR 12 months.

when i went to get a service, i was told i would get the free service as long as my miles was about 10,000miles. i would give them a phone back and tell them your miles and the first service is not to 10,000.

My Owners Handbook says the oil must be changed every 2 years, even if the mileage indicator says it isn't time yet.

TLC covers services that the service indicator says you need. So from about 9000 to 11000 for your first service.
It also covers your first service at 2 years if you do limited mileage. The oil and brake fluid need to be changed once they are 2 years old no matter what mileage your car stands at.

I think TLC should cover your annual service no matter what mileage you do, it doesn't . After all we have all paid the same for it and not doing enough miles seems a pretty poor excuse to prevent someone getting their car serviced.

my dealer tells me that the TLC package will only pay out if you have a service 1000 miles either way of the car's indicator.
