| UberGeek | Whats it worth? So... just assume for a moment that I need to get a larger car. Whilst I'd be tempted to keep my MINI and buy a larger, older car, I simply can't afford to do that. Spec in general, including the mods (2003 MC/CVT): http://mini2.com/forum/member.php?u=...vehicledetails Pic here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/attachmen...chmentid=32612 It's got around 39K miles now, which admittedly, is what UK buyers would consider 'high mileage'. Having said that, it's (of course) fully serviced, and hasn't missed a beat. Question is - whats it worth? Cost me £15.5K new, and I've spent a good £3000 on mods since then... All thoughts & opinions welcome! -Lee |

Offline | I'd say closer to £13k - £13,500. Mine was worth £14,800 (free car after a rejected '01) in June '02 and the dealer offered me around £12k as a trade in and mines only got 18,000 miles on the clock. |

Offline | I've noticed a Rover dealer by me who has an '03 red/white Cooper for sale. It's been there for about a month now without selling!? The price started at £13,100 then £12,500 now its gone down to £11,998!! Has the bubble burst on used MINI's? ![]() |

| UberGeek | OK - I went to the Audi dealer today (Wayside for those in or near to Milton Keynes). The A3 2 litre TDi Sport-line is very very tasty.... I'm seriously tempted. I know that an A3 won't handle as well as a MINI, but, it shouldn't be that far removed. Why? Well, for reasons I won't divulge (yet), the MINI's too small. I love it dearly, but there comes a time when 'living' with it's niggles outweigh it's considerable benefits. Regarding the resale value of MINI's - well, with a 'new' facelifted version now out, the original version is going to start falling in value. I'm thinking that it's best to chop my Coop now whilst resale is still better than it will be in a few months time. If I do chop the MINI, I'm going to miss it, but not half as much as the MINI social scene. But then, I'll still bum around here at MINI2 I think ![]() So - modified MC for sale. Anyone interested? -Lee |

Offline | I guess we're are in the fortunate position of having a Cooper and a new A3 supplied through the dealership where my missus works. So far we have had the 1.6 (don't bother) the 2.0 FSI (quite liked that) and now a 2.0 TDI ( fast but a bit noisy) with the full leather and all the toys. I like the A3 a lot. If I was being critical I'd say the steering is too light and lacking feel and like all Audis bar the 4 wheel drive ones it understeers too much in corners, but it is quite well screwed together. Having said which there is no way I'd pay £22k of my own money for the one we have. Actually what am I saying? I should be getting you a good price on one! "Do try to keep up Nigel!" |
