I phoned the dealer today and was speaking to the head Mechanic, he seems to think rather than a fuel leak it could be that the Fuel Guage is reading incorrectly and needs either reset or replacing

He said an sure sign of a fuel leak is either staining on the driveway, or a high smell of fuel inside the car when moving, which there is NOT, I can only get a small of fuel when the car is still with the engine running

He didnt seem very concerned about the problem and told me to phone back later and arrange with the service department to get the car booked in for next week that there garage was fully booked for the remainder of this week not the service I was hoping for I was also informed that no Courtsy car would be available while the car was being checked over, i would either have to wait around all day or arrange to get back home at my own cost

I'd just call MINI Emergency services - they will then evaluate it and if it is dangerous take it off to a garage immedaitely, or if it's safe they'll leave it to you to sort out. At least you'll have peace of mind and it wont have cost you anyhting apart from a bit of time
