Offline | just back from a vacation the UK I am so jealous... with the official launch in the USA a week before my departure, and the Conran's event days before flying to England, I was very pumped up to see a new Mini on the road. I was not disappointed, though I apologize to anyone whom I may have freaked out by running towards their cars with a fiendish grin and video camera rolling...and apologies to the indi blue Cooper my friends and I followed for 15 minutes outside Cambridge... Many thanx to the Scotthall Cambridge Mini folks for not chasing me off the lot (I sat in every available car, having my photo taken to see which might suit me best), and thanx to the family of four that test drove 2 cars while I was lurking about, filming their departure and return... And thanx to the sales rep in Glasgow who let me film him as he drove out of the lot in the BRG Mini... and the guy in the red Cooper One in Edinburgh...zooooom! Unfortunately, my research has not helped narrow down my color choice - and, seeing classic minis of all models and colors, I think I'll just have to pull names from a hat - ANY MINI WILL DO (so long as it is an S) cheers all ![]() Indi Blue/white S, moon roof, DSC, fog lights |

Offline | well, uh, yes actually - some lovely pubs and the Isle of Skye - as i disembarked from the ferry on Skye, my awaiting friends waved frantically to me, pointing to a new silver Cooper driving onto the ferry...once they drove me around the island, I fully understood why that MINI owner had been there, though, the place is so amazing, I could see myself driving off the road into a ditch (do you get points for avoiding sheep?) anyone familliar with Skye may know the road to Kylerhea - 7 miles of no passing, winding and dipping road: well, my friends live in Kylerhea and, sometimes they get a bit queasy in their 10 yr old VW Golf on this road... seriously, Glasgow is really wonderful Edinburgh interesting Scots truely warm and friendly and polite drivers! Cambridge fun and picturesque London, well, being a New Yorker, London is remarkably like home, but oh so much more proper now that I'm back, I should call K.Fox at MINI and ask about my Mini...thanx for the reminder (not!) ![]() Indi Blue/white S, moon roof, DSC, fog lights |

Offline | Seeing pubs is an important part of the UK experience. Just don't pub and drive! ![]() We have a British chap working at our dealership here, and he gets a big kick out of all the crazed MINI customers clammoring over their cars. I'm quite sure you didn't need a reminder to call about your car. I know none of our customers do, but that's OK, it's all part of the MINI experience! So, you can't order your car until you pick a color, do you have it narrowed down at least? Mine's going to be Indi Blue. |

Offline | My mate lives in Skye and the drive from Perth is fantastic in any car. When I get my Cooper S it's going to be one of the first trips I make (once the engine's run in, seeing as I live in London this won't be a problem Perth = 500 + miles) .Hope you tried Talisker, and bagged a Munro ? |

Offline | ummm...yummy no Munroe bagging this trip - hope to the next time...did visit the Talisker distillery after helping rebuild a 15th century stone wall (worked up a thirst)- brought back some samples...too bad there's a customs limit! I am envious about your intentions, Grumpy Smurf to drive up there...guess I'll have to settle for Los Angeles's Crest Highway ![]() no, drinking and driving is a bit foolish to me - spoils the fun, spills the drinks color options narrowed down - no yellow, electric blue, black or white for me - all the rest are still options - i should decide if i am going for the retro/reference to the classic and decide from there...i never have had a problem deciding on a colr for anything before (architect/artist/woman who likes clothes) arrrrrgh!
