Offline | Alarm guys.. I was wondering whether it's necessary to have alarm system for safety reason since I did not see it as standard feature of Cooper |

Offline | My understanding on the alarm: The order for my MINI was placed last Tuesday with Baron MINI in KC. The order was placed almost a year to the day after my deposit was made. Anyway, I asked my salesman "Gabe" about adding the alarm to my order and was informed that the alarm wiring would not be available until sometime later this summer. He may have even told me exactly when but I can't seem to remember everything since I was so excited to actually have a MINI on order. Hopefully I will get a build number this week so I can start keeping track of my Baby!! Red/White Cooper, Premium Package, CWP #3, Spoiler, Fogs, Sport Seats, Chrome Line, Black Leatherette. Offline | I've been wondering about the alarm in the US too. I was told something like "we're not selling an extra alarm with the MINI -- the immobilizer is all you need" and that this was standard for BMWs. That sounds odd to me given what I've read on here about the alarm option. I might be okay with just the immobilizer provided there's a flashing light and sticker or whatever as a deterrent. Kevin |
