What are Mud Flaps?

What r mudflaps that I've heard mini-lovers refer to? Aren't they mud guards or also called splash guards? I asked a couple of "very knowledgeable" salesreps in the Connecticut dealer and they were unsure themselves. However, we all thought that they were mud/splash guards... Sadly, they don't have a visual on how they look on the Mini. Can someone please post picture(s) of Mini with mud flaps. [/color] [u][b]. Thanks.

I think Monsta has some in his gallery, I have them on my car, no pics though, but they are very neatly integrated, and very cheap to buy !!.......

Basivcally mud flaps are molded bits of plastic that fix to the wheel arches to stop mud, grimme & dirt splattering the side & rear of the car

Thumbs up Thanks for the pix & clarification

Thanks for the great picture & the clarification. To Monsta or anyone: can u also post a picture of the FRONT w/mud flaps. Also if possible, the entire car with mud flaps on both front & rear of the Mini. Unfortunately my dealer did not have any of these visuals or didn't know where/how to look. Thanks, merci, gracias, salamat, to che...

Full view, I have adjusted the brightness of this photo as it is a little hard to see the front flaps otherwise.

mudflaps

I had mudflaps fitted to my mini because the back of the Minis get very dirty very quickly.I spend alot of time in Ireland and when I was there in the winter I got stopped by a friendly police man who was not happy about the fact he could not read my number plate Since I had them fitted it has really helped keep the back clean.

If she's not smoking she broken!

They would look better if they came from the inside of the rear wheel arch

Monsta - do you find they make much difference though?
I always thought that you got them as standard on the Chili pack but obviously not

Thanks mates

Thanks again for all the info. and especially to Monsta for the visuals.

timlowden771: what were the problems that you've had? How many miles do u have & when was Mini built?

To all Mini-owners (incl. 1 & S) : do the service technicians seem knowledgeable when doing work on the Minis? Or r they learning as they go along? I just hope it's not "trial & error" when they're doing repairs on the Minis.
