| The new 3 series is going to be half a class bigger so there is plenty of room to fit in the 1-series and the 2-series coupe. Also, BMW has a problem with the 3 series being too popular and and this is affecting residuals as the fleets dump thousands of 318s onto the second-hand market. With some of the sales being taken by the 1 and 2 series and all future 3 series coupes being designated 4 series, it will regain some of its exclusivity again, firming up the residuals.
