| MINI Owner! | British Racing Green....? Well, I thought I was pretty set on Solid Black with a white roof, but now, after listening at my parents complain about my color choice I think that Black may not be the best choice. I have always liked the BRG and the Black for that matter. However, I'm a pretty lazy guy , and couldn't see myself scrubbing my car once a week. I've looked at dozens of pictures but none really seem to convey the actual color. I'm pretty sure I don't like the BRG with white roof, but with a black roof... now that's classy.... or at least I think... Does the BRG with black roof look too much like one color, or is that just what the picures show? I'd like to hear some opinions in the form of words, or excellent pictures, becuase I've never seen this combo, and I think I'll like it a lot if the BRG doesn't blend in too much with the black roof. ![]() Oh yeah, forgot to ask this too, how "sparkly" is the paint? I've seen some pictures where the car looks like glitter was thrown all over it. Are these just rare pictures? Let's Motor! Last edited by afromanbob : Aug 10th, 2004 at 04:43 AM. |

| Chaotic Entity | BRG and black is a hot color IMO. Sometimes it looks like one color, but only in the right light. Some black stripes on it will make it look really slick. Check out my website in my signature for lots of pictures of BRG/Black and some with black stripes too. The only problem with BRG is that it shows pollen like you wouldn't belive, which can be a problem if you don't wash your car very often. |

Offline | Brg Hi ya, Yeah I really like the BRG, I was not too keen on either an all white or an all black roof so opted for a chequared black and white roof (photos in gallery) But looks good and is quite a lot darker than I expected! Hope this helps Q. BRG COOPER, CHEQUARED ROOF, BONNET STRIPES |

Offline | I had the same situation - my last Cooper was Cosmos Black and I was going to stick with it for the new one but I was getting bored with constantly washing it! I then saw BRG with a black roof and fell in love! It looks like one colour in the right light but get up close and its a beautiful colour - and yes the paint is incredibly sparkly, just like someone has covered it in glitter! Its the best metallic colour I've seen in a long time! I have absolutely no regrets about chossing BRG and black, it does show dirt like any colour - nowhere near as bad as the metallic black was! Go for it. Jonathan Completely MINI/Mini Mad!!! |

Offline | WOO HOO... A BRG Thread... The gallery search doesn't show all of your cars. Great Lot. Anyway, I have a BRG/W on order. The roof color was definitely a tough decision. The Black seemed more serious and the white seemed more toy-ish. After flip-floping many times, I finally settled on the white. I figured that no one takes me seriously anyway, so why not go with the white. Actually, the main reason was that I live in southern california and I figured the white top might not get as hot in the sun. That is how close the race was in my mind. Oooh. and I love stripes on the green ones. |

| MINI Owner! | Ok... right now I'm thinking BRG with Black roof and Black stripes. What do you guys think of this? Also, the last thing that I'm wary of is how sparkly it is... is it too sparkly, because I'm not too keen on the idea of having a sparkly car. Let's Motor! |

Offline | I've always gone for green cars: I was going to order a BRG MCS with a white roof, but the BRG was too much too dark for my taste. A black roof on a BRG MINI doesn't offer much contrast (looks body color from a distance), so if you don't want a white roof you might as well go with a body color roof. The body color roof will show dirt a little less than a black roof ... but not much Members List:Personal Gallery: Yes MINI Body Color: British Racing Green MINI Bonnet Stripes: Yes MINI Personal Gallery: Yes |

Offline | On how sparkly the paint is...it does have that metallic look, but I don't think it looks like glitter - it's not like those sparkle-drum sets from the '70's, if that's what you're worried about. |

Offline | BRG with which ever combo i say.. we only got white because the Mrs wanted it and it's her car If i was to get another then it would be either black or another BRG.As for sparkly..... I don't think i'd say sparkly... you could have two options1. Chromed up to the max or 2. De-chromed and stealth look... ![]() which ever option you choose BRG is the way I think if you don't want to clean too much Does my @rse look big in this broom broom |

| Chaotic Entity | As you can see in this picture, on casual glance most of the time the roof will look body colored, but once you actually look at the car you'll see that its actually black. It shows up much better if you have the stripes. Once after I first got the car, before the stripes were put on, a lady came up to me to tell me how much she liked my MINI, she said she liked how it was all one color, not a bunch of colors like some others she's seen, as she put it. I didn't tell her that mine actually had a black roof and a green body. |

Offline | Black stripes might be a hint that the roof is black, but I don't see how they'll make the roof stand out I was under the impression that factory stripes for the Cooper did not come with contrasting borders. Black stripes on BRG will not stand out unless they have white borders. |
