So I decided to wait for a January '05 production so I can get the limited slip differential and I want lower weight wheels...either the new R99s or the R91s. These may be available as an option for the
MCS or I'll just buy them and sell-off the S-Lites...waiting to hear.
I went back to the closest dealer to me and did another test-drive. I wanted to be sure about the
MCS as one 10 minute drive was great, but just not enough. It was great again. With some revs at a start, you can avoid the initial bog before the sweet area of the power band. Took it on the highway this time and it was smooth at quite a good speed. Took some corners with greater speed and got to better experience the wonderful handling. During acceleration the
MCS sounds great! Even stock. It had only around 220 miles on it...I heard no squeaks, rattles, or other unsavory sounds. Really tight. It was another commemorative model. Although I don't like the stickers, the chilli red with the anthracite wheels looks great....might just have to change from DS/DS to CR/CR!
Had a conversation with the sales manager...an affable gentleman. He knows I am not happy with the premium they charge...$3000! Would love to buy from them as they are closest, but this is a huge mark-up. If I get it from afar, I'll loose about $1200 to shipping or travel to get it and driving back. A bit more palatable as there could be a fun trip involved. I would love to hear from those that have paid the premium and what your reasons for doing so were.
