silkgreen being discontinued - MINI Cooper Forum

MINI of Manhattan tells me that Silkgreen is being discontinued due to possible chipping in the paint.
Paul..have you hear of this? If so, what color are they going to replace it with? I'm going to have to pick a different color now..bummer!

I have done over 5000 miles in my Silk Green car.

I have picked-up one small chip on the bonnet (hood) and one on the door.

Neither are any worse than any other car I have owned, and with the colour they hardly show-up. Sounds like hogwash to me.

I'm hoping! I really would like a silkgreen/black roof. I also emailed BMW at MINIUSA.com to see what they have to say about it.

I have heard of some paint problens where after several years it starts to peel away because it no longer adheres to the primer..I have heard it is mainly a problem in blue hughes.

My blue ford ranger went bald at three. luckily it was under warranty and re-sprayed for free.

I believe SIlk Green will go, and be replaced by Gold.

Now what can make way for Candy Blue? Drop the Chili Red maybe?

The day they stop making MINI's in Red I'll.... (thinks carefuly about possible concequences).... Be very surprised indeed.

I'd say slightly lower UNLESS they find the right buyer.
