The technicians worked long and hard getting that prototype up and running.
All of 10mins with photoshop

It would be an easy model for BMW to copy but I don't think so. It would add nothing extra to the range

Forgive my ignorance but I never understood what the Clubman was and how it differed.

Traveler I get. Make that now. I'd rather have that than the Cabrio.

The clubman gave you...er....extra front overhang and an empty space behind the grille for....er...air.
This made it slightly longer so the packaging was...well, worse.
It was also uglier.

The Clubbie was supposed to be a more 'now' shape for the 70's. An attempt to modernize the classic appearance. A good 1275GT is worth quite a bit now.
My last classic was an 1100 Clubbie...

OK
Things I miss about the 70s
My hair
a 32" waistline
the stamina of a Jack Russel terrier
looking good in just shorts
no back hair

I don't miss

The friggin color schemes. Didn't like most of it even in the 70s
Those stupid, exaggerated, huge, goofy a** bell bottoms
Disco
Viet Nam

Why is it the things I do miss stayed gone and the things I hated seem to be here again??
