I take it you've spoken to Paul about this.

Its an idea, not an offer.

If enough folk like the idea, then Paul may be able to get some done.

It might be an idea to talk to Paul first rather than getting people interested in this and then it goes pear shaped.

I was investigating getting my own design "Badge Bar" type Grill Badge made some months ago, & got the following reply off the UK`s major car badge manufacturer.

Many thanks for your e-mail concerning badges. Unfortunately the cost of producing a 1 off badge would be very expensive. Typical tooling costs are in the region of £500.00 for a badge similar to your design and then production of a single badge on top of that would possibly be another £50.00. "

From this, You could project that a production run of say 200 badges would cost around £15 each ... If a buyer could be found for each one.

I have two comments on the badge thing. One, a badge bar would be a nice thing, and would ben fairly easy to connect between two lamp brackets.

Two: As you may gather from my screen name, I am a Dentist. I used to work for the State of Virginia as a Public Health Dentist, and as a joke at one of our annual meetings, I had a police-type badge made that had the State of Virginia Seal, and "Public Health Dentist" engraved into it. I asked all the new hires if they had received their badges yet. Obviously they all said "no" and started asking about when they would get them, Drove the director crazy! It was absolutely professional looking. It seems that police, fire, EMS and other services use "stock" badge types, with stock enamelled centers, and engraving of the Town's name or the service. These companies are set up for small runs, since a small town fire department might have only 20 or so members.

I simply picked the metal badge type, The State Seal. And the Engraving. I only had one made and it was not real expensive. A nice fireman type badge with a Union Jack Center, and Mini Cooper and Mini2.com engraved on it would probably work fine. I am unfamiliar with what badges look like in say, England, but I am sure someone there could order a low run of badges with a Union Jack center fairly inexpensively.
