1. 1997 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L Sahara - this went like sh*t off a shovel. You could kick the back end out around corners - mighty mighty good fun. Caution required in wet though.

2. 1997 Rover 214 8v - needed to trade the Wrangler in for this pile of crap due to insurance cost. But it's little 1.4 8V engine was a real surprise - decent power and sounded good when revved.

3. 2003 Mini Cooper - a wonderful little car in every respect, but I found myself longing for a little more power.

4. 1997 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L Limited - supreme comfort, but too heavy on fuel.

5. 2001 Golf GTI Turbo - loving this just now. It's got plenty power, big boot, smooth and quiet engine. Yes, I'm going to keep this for a while.

WAS PLANNING: a 2007 Cooper S, but I'm beginning to go off the idea. I'm currently swaying towards two cars: another Jeep Wrangler 4.0L for weekend fun, and a Ford Focus TDCI - for everyday use

I drive..

Whell i´m not yet a owner of a mini but i itend too so my actual car is an
Opel Astra 1.7 DTi vanform 2001 -At the present time is my first car and i´ve nothing to say except that is a good compromise economy/price , good driving and not too expensive on revisions.

Vw Polo FOX from 1991 until know-This is was my first car driving so he suffers on the begining on my hands. My impression that the car is economic and resistant because at the time he is with 245.000Km and stil running with minor problems on painting .It´s my second car and i love driving it .

Mini Cooper or Mini Cooper S- since i´m not a owner (but i´m saving economys to buy one of them) but i have drive the S and since then and i see the film Italian Job with charlize theron i´m in love with the car!!!! I think its a safe car and with lots of potential on the road. One the aspects i much like it´s the sound of a engine of a Cooper or Cooper s.

Whell this is my testimony with some error of writing(sorry this is not my native language)
Best Regards
Ricardo Tavares

85 Pontiac Fiero (first time behind the wheel...)
86 Ford Escort (driving lessons and test.)
86 Ford Scorpio 2.0L (company car)
87 Volvo 745 Estate (my first "owned" car... Gutless 2.3L.)
75 Chevrolet Camaro (in-line 6. Now languishing in the basement.)
88 Chevrolet Caprice (was a 305, now a 350 cubed/4BBL. My "daily driver".)
68 Ford Galaxie Convertible (a gift. Way too much money spent on it. 390 cubed/2BBL. Thats 6.7Litre for UK types...)
69 Chevrolet Impala Sport Sedan (327/2BBL. Now with 750CFM Demon. A bargain. Paid $400. Sunk about $4K in.)
03 Mini Cooper (the wife's baby. But I get to drive it when she feels magnanimous.)

Currently have 5 vehicles in the fleet but I really should start selling some off this year.

mmm,

1.) Nissan D21 1 tonne pickup, 2ltr --superb vehicle, would have it back tomorrow
2.) Vauxhall Nova 1ltr OHV ----what a laughable pile of junk, but cheap junk
3.) Austin Mini City E --- cost a fortune in bodywork, but a cool car
4.) Ford Escort Mk4 XR3i lookalike ---- I loved it, it rusted worse than the mini!
5.) Fiat Cinquecento Sporting --- best small car on the planet, I`m not joking
6.) Nissan Micra 1.3 Super S --- awsome car, handles well, fast for a 1.3, broke it racing
7.) Renault Clio 1.2 Dynamique ---- just never buy Renault...........
8.) Nissan Primera GT ----- Truly amazing car that no one expects to be THAT fast or handle THAT well
9.) Rover Mini Equinox ---- my little time machine, I love it, now for sale though
10.) Suzuki Jimny - VERY slow but cool offroad
11.) Mini Cooper S --- picking it up on Wednesday!!!

Ontop of those I`ve had the following company cars:

Ford Transit 2.5 diesel
Peugeot Expert 1.9 diesel
Vauxhall Astra 1.7TD Van
Vauxhall Astra 1.7 Dti Van
Ford Focus 1.8 Petrol
Vauxhall Astra 1.7 Dti Estate
Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 Dti (the worst car in the world, bar none!)
Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 petrol LS , compared to the above company cars is ok.....ish

I think I really need to stop selling cars so quick, all the above have been within 11 years!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, NO ONE BUY A 2.0 DTI VECTRA LS, ever, trust me, they steal your zest for life and kill your soul. I shudder at the thought of ever driving my old one again. They really are that bad.

2003 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Design (cheapest car available on the company lease scheme!) Purchased by my mother from the lease company after 12 months and 7000 miles for HALF its retail price . That's some depreciation.

Cars I've owned

Used Cars

Years of ownership - Car Year of manufacture - Vehicle - colour - comments

1983 to 1986 - 1980 MkII Ford Escort 1.3GL - Beige with a Brown Vinyl Roof, Goodmans 007 Pod speakers in rear window - Nice!!

1986 to 1988 - 1979 Triumph Dolomite (Dolly) 1300 - Russet Brown - solid and relaible, but what a horrid colour!!

1990 to 1999 - 1985 Mini Metro (Minnie) 1.0 - White - ver poor car, but lasted 8 years until it fell apart!

1999 to 2001 - 1996 Peugeot 106 (Pugsley) 1.1 - White - Major brakes problem, calipers kept sticking on after 18 months of owning it, tried loads of garages to fix it, eventually got fed up and swapped it.

2001 to 2006 - 1998 Daewoo Matiz (Dolly) 0.8 - Silver with Alloys!! - The Space Pod, cute, small but deceptively spacious, quite quick for an 800cc car, started out as my car, until MINI came onto the scene, and hubby parted with his Land Rover and took Dolly the Daewoo as his car. Eventually fell to bits and was swapped for Fiat Panda.

2004 - 2005 - 1983 Series III 109 Ex Military Landrover (Hexy) 2.25 Petrol- 3 months out from restoration, softop, gorgeous, fun and pristine, tho too heavy on fuel, especially as a second car for hubby, £100 a month to do 125 miles! Eeek!

2006 to date - 2005 Fiat Panda 1.3 - Very spacious inside, pulls well and lots of nice touches, more rear passenger and luggage room than MINI, great for carrying stuff, but not as much fun as MINI!!

New Cars

The only New Car I've ever had from New is Jazmini, 05 EB/B MINI Cooper, JCW, 16" Alloys, Bonnet Stripes, Sunroof, HK hifi, Boot changer, Chilli Pack, Chrome int/ext, folding heated mirrors, tinted windows, full leather seats, chrono pack, MCSS Alloy pedals!!
