Micra (Driving instructor car) Cars owned: Fiesta 950 pop (very basic) Vauxhall Nova (very reliable - nothing in 5 years) Saxo 1.1 and Saxo 1.4i Furio (the saxos were cheap and great fun especially the 1.4 which was very nippy but both had serious things wrong for new cars) Current Car MINI Cooper (love it - best all round experience but pricey) Cars I've driven (partners): Escort 1.3 x 2 (heavy) Astra 1.4 92ps (nippy) MGTF 1.8 135 (nice acceleration) One I loved being a passenger in but would never drive in case I damaged it!! Pilgrim Sumo (Cobra replica).

1st car Austin 1300 - bought from my grandad when he had to give up driving. I was 23 and it was 21 - had a photo of me standing in front of it on the day he bought it - me aged 2! Most loved feature was the horizontal speedo with the red line that moved across - and the enormous steering wheel!. Learned to drive in it, passed my test in it, also did a lot of walking as it let me down quite a lot towards the end - leaving it for a year when I went RTW was a big mistake. Cried when I sold it! 2nd car - Old Fiesta - pile of c***p - so much walking due to unreliability that I eventually sold it as it spent more time at home than I did. 2 years carless as couldn't be bothered with the continual drain on my funds due to repair after repair! 3rd car - Company car - Laguna - tank, reliable, didn't bond, just an A to B car and no fun driving. 4th car - Company car - Toyota Avensis - slightly less tank like, but still a tank, reliable, didn't bond, etc etc 5th car - Mini Cooper, nearly 5 weeks old now- OMG, 14 years after passing my test, I finally get the driving thing. First car I have "owned" that cost more than £600!

Don't knock MiniVans! The funny thing about the MiniVan is that it was made in Canada (Windsor, Ontario). Thus I've owned 2 cars made in Mexico, two cars made in England (soon to be three), one car made in Australia, 3 from Germany, 2 from U.S. (Isuzu made in Iowa!), 1 from Japan, one vehicle from Spain, and one from Canada. Like I said, a strange brew.
