Offline | My car has a problem with the Electronic Throttle controller, it's intermittent and the engineer who assisted me on saturday told me to book it in to a dealership after the bank hols. So... today I phone MINI assistance and the operator on the end says "take it to your local dealership Sir and they will sort it out for you" fantastic. However when I asked him to arrange to have a replacement car sent to the dealership and I told him how many points I have on my license he said there was nothing he could do. I'm not sure on the contractual obligations of MINI Emergency Service, but if they promise to provide a replacement car, then surely they should stick to that. ![]() Just to clarify, the reason they can't get me a car is because the hire company they use will not hire out to people with more than 6 points on their license. I spoke to my dealership and they haven't got any courtesy cars available either ![]() |

| Gutter Princess | I had to book my car in nearly 3 weeks before to secure a courtesy car... it's a bit rubbish really.. thankfully there was no issue with points but I've had trouble before. In an emergency it's not a good service.... when I first entered the Mini world I was promised another mini to replace mine anytime I needed it, and failing that, a BMW of some description... To this date I've never had a courtesy car.... Sorry Button.. ![]() |

| Awwww %%%% it! | don't confuse courtesy cars with the MINI emergency service - they say they'llp rovide you with a car which is what Buttons is after - not sure if there is small print to check mate but sounds a bit tight. Ask if it can be done on your insurance rather than the hire firm ![]() |
