I am on the waiting list for an Indi Blue/White ... love the color ... but I have one concern!
It might be a color combo that might wear out its "fun" factor quick. I need a daily driver that does not stand out too much all the time , and I get the feeling more and more that this color combo will!
So I am thinking about the Silver/Black .. as I 've seen some and love the way they look.
I doo want a White roof though Damn these color choices!
What do you guys think?
What is your reasoning behind the color you chose?
We all are having the same problems
I've got a Cosmos black Cooper at the moment because it looked so good in the showroom, although I set out to get IB too. I think you need to see all colours in the flesh before you make a final choice as all coulours look great.
I'm still taring my hair out over what colour to get for my S. DS is the choice this week
MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter

Mine is Indie Blue/White complete with White 16" alloys and yes it does stand out from the crowd, with people coming up to me in car parks asking for a sneeky peek but it does look absolutly stunning every day in every weather condition so its just down to what kinda' personality you have...... and what image you want from your driving machine
I went for RED/WHITE its by far the best colour, it suits the car perfectly and is in keeping with the original mini, my second choice would be BRG/WHITE which I might have had if it was released when I got mine.....
Although the Silver/Black is a very nice colour combo (i dont want to upset anyone) i think it makes the car look too grown up, and doesnt have as much of the 'fun' factor as you put it... but this is only my opinion, no one can decide apart from yourself....
I had the same trouble, I love Silver cars but I'm not sure of it with a black roof. I also wanted people to KNOW mine was a cooper so a silver roof was out of the question. It came down to Cosmos Black and Indi Blue. Eventually went with Cosmos black, only to see it next to Solid Black and think it was disapoointing, si I save myself £250 and went with Solid.
The Blue does look awesome, saw Minty's in the flesh on sunday and quite frankly it looks amazing. I say go with the Blue and white myself.
Alternatively you could see if you can spec the car with Silver and a white roof, but I doubt they'd allow it (to close to Cooper S style), or if you can afford the Cooper S get the Dark Silver and White roof That has to me my favorite colour combo!
See the thing I will use the car for business a lot, so I was thionking about a more serious color combo (silver/black) ... but I do loooove that Indi Blue.
I know it does not contrast too much, but does anyone have a pic of an Indi Blue with Black top???
Aurel, can't help you with the picture, but I'm having the same trouble deciding on color. I know all the options I want, but color seems to be a sticking point. For the base Cooper, I know I want Indi Blue. But a year or so from now, if / when I trade up for the S, it's going to be tough deciding between IB or DS. You'd think this was a life or death decision, the fate of the universe hanging in the balance . At least I've got some time to think about it. Just keep in mind that none of the colors are all that ugly (at least not IMO), except for maybe gold, so you can't really go wrong. I do agree though that generally speaking the silver w/ black has more of a 'professional' look, as opposed to yellow or red for example. Yet even still, I think this characterization could apply to any of the darker colors. I personally like the white roof as I think this gives the car a more sporty appearance, but then again I'm not using the car for business as you are. Good Luck.
My thoughts about the indi blue(which is my fav btw and i'll be getting on my S with a white roof and stripes) is that the indi blue carries enough of the fun factor with out being to overpowering or imho a color that i would grow out of(no offense) like the electric blue or yellow. If you want more of the serious look as you want this for business, i'd suggest going with the body colored roof. This gives the car more of a, i hate to say it, normal car look...as you don't see a white roof or black roof on cars that the rest isn't that color too often. Personally i think MINI w/ matching roof color in either Indi Blue or BRG will be your best bets. Black would work as well but can be a pain to keep clean. The edge i have with indi blue over brg is you can't get a green black leather combo with green carpets on a BRG MINI like you can get a Blue Black with Blue carpets for a Indi Blue, Electric Blue MINI, although the Silver and Blue does look sharp together. If they had a green/black leather interior - i'd been hard pressed to make a decision.
I think I am getting on the right track soon.
Looked for a Indi with Black top and I like it. I will be getting a sunroof as well so it should work well.
Casey ... I never thought of the body color roof as I think the car needs to have 2 colors ...Ahem! Otherwise it is not a Mini in my eyes, but like you said: " a regular car"
I am just afraid that with a White roof (as much as I like it now) I will be sick of the "funky, quirky" aspect of it pretty soon! (I do get bored with things quickly )
This is what I believe slows sales down for the Beetle and the PT as well ... once the "novelty" factor wears down ... well ... you gotta use and love the car for practical reasons.
I knew this girl at my old job that had ridiculous Beetle fever when the Beeetle came out. She had about a dozen Beetle gizmos on her desk, was talking about it constantly.
She bought the car ... loved it babied it and gave rides to everyone and then sold it within a year. She was sick of it!
So basically I need to make sure that I can use it and it be practical for all days ... as I love the car ... but those damn color combos are boggling
