| Mini Vin I tried searching for an answer to this, but I couldn't find one, so here goes: Why the hell does my new MINI have a German VIN identifier (W) and not a British one? (S)  The obvious answer is that the WMW is BMW's identifier, but I was under the impression that the first digit/letter of the VIN had to be the country of manufacture. Perhaps the EU has something to do with it? Anyone have an answer to this? My MINI dealer couldn't shed any light on it either. Cheers, Derrick  |

| This question has been posed before and if I remember correctly it was pointed out that the Z3 roadsters and the X5 SUVs made in the US also have a "W" identifier. + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |
