it's amazing it only went up 500, considering the weakness of the dollar to the pound and euro... http://ibooth.net/s-banner-small.jpg Current Status: Picked up 11/10 and still haven't wiped the grin off of my face!!

Yes. And they have since 2002. I consider it a benefit to residual value. My car is now worth about $700 more just because of the increases for Jan '05, and that offsets any value it may have lost from depreciation, not a bad deal. And I think your $ for an Auto MCS is low, its probably more like $29,000 with a Nav system added in. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Dutch prices suck too... Same here in Holland... Prices of Cooper S starts at 28K euro's, so that's I think even more than $28K.... They wanted to level the prices in Europe of cars, but than they take the price of a car in Holland without BPM, but the BPM is about 20% So not really nice here either...But it doesn't stop me from buying a new Mini Cooper!

When you consider that the average new car MSRP is over $28,000 now (ref: Motot Trend 2003 article) the Mini still remains an excellent value IMHO. Even with the MCSC coming in at about 31K, compared to any other performance-oriented, 4 passenger ragtop, it's easily 10K cheaper than any competing product. And with residuals the highest in the market, the car continues to be an incredible value.

I did when I bought my 2004 MC and was able to keep the price right around $18,000 and I had to buy it out of state to do it. Most people out here in Southern California buy loaded MC and MC's and most dealers out here charge an additional $2500-$5000 dealer-markup over that so you can figure that people are paying aound $25,000 for a MC, $30,000 for a MCS and nearly $35,000 for a MCSC. .

I was patient enough to wait it out with East Bay MINI that charges MSRP, nothing more, nothing less. Excellent buying experience and I was able to keep my Cooper at just a tiny bit above $20K. I'm just glad I got mine when I did, especially with the new design changes and price increases in the future. Let's Motor!
