Anyone else on here been invited to test drive the new Mondeo ST220 at Rockingham race circuit on June 4th?
I had an invite in the post this morning!
Should be a blast.

Johnny Herbert is taking us round the oval for a couple of high speed runs as well as us test driving the new car!!

I think it's by invitation and theres only 80 places.
Wonder if they will let me take the MINI around Rockingham?!!

If enyone else is going, maybee we could meet up?

You'll have a good day there. Do you know why you were chosen have you a similar car now? I used to work in Ford Marketing and know they put together a good show so enjoy it I bet it is a great car even the standard one is.

The car I owned before I bought the MINI was a Mondeo ST24, so they must still have me on record.

And your right. The Mondeo ST24 was a great car!!
I almost bought the ST200 and then I fell in love with the MINI!

As you said, the day should be a good one!
This is the blurb from the invite:

"In an action packed day you will be putting ST220 through it's paces on road and track, plus you'll take part in timed speed tests, hazard reaction and ABS exercises, an ESP demonstration and compete in a low-speed manouvring competition. BBC's Top Gear (didn't know it was coming back!) will also be covering the event."

Also, when I phoned to register, I was told about the laps with Johnny Herbert.

Come on MINI!!! We need something like this to launch the "S"!!

Ford seriously cut their budgets for these days so enjoy it while you can there used to be a few fair throughout the year. Indeed one of my colleagues got a ride in a GT40!
