Digital cameras. ( sorry a bit off-topic)

Hi all,

I'm just about to order a camera from jungle. But first I thought i'd see what everyone here uses as obviously quite a few people here have digicams. I'm thinking about a fugi finepix 2600 at £229. Anyone got this camera, anyone got any opinions?

Any help greatly apreciated

Dom

i own the finepix 2600 for a while, is a good deal imho. for the price u get everything u need from the cam. to the rechargable battery. The pic come out nice and clear from all type of lighting. I don't think you can get anything better at that price range.

I would agree with MiniE, as DK says, I own one!

It is in my opinion, the best camera in that price range I could find, mostly due to the excellent image quality. Not just resolution, the colour reproduction and various white balance and light settings are also very good, as the zoom feature.

Cool camera ... I have a Finepix 1300 for about 1 1/2 years and this might look like a logical upgrade for better shots.

BTW, as I was checking the web for it I came up with this:

http://www.us.buy.com/retail/product...15888&loc=2099

Only $238 here ... Free Shipping to boot ... I might just get this.

How come prices in the UK are still much, much higher on electronics???

Does a 2million pixel camera have the resolution to take a pic which could be blown up to desktop size without appearing grainy??

If I remember correctly, the largest size/highest quality image on the FinePix is 1600x1200 @72 pixels/inch (screen resolution). Usually just under 800kb in size.

That should do for most people's desktops, and is good for small print outs.

Fuji Finepix 2600

Bought one today in Boots - £249 with a free 32Mb card

I have tried it out with the default settings and got
some good pictures.

I was also impressed with the PC software. Plug the camera into the USB port and it brings up the programme straight away as well as creating a removable disk which is the card in the camera. Pictures are there straight away for immediate e-mail (50Kb) or save as good looking Jpeg (320Kb).

Looking forward to using it on serious stuff

The beast has landed
