September... When the leaves and the MINI's turn from (Silk) Green to Gold...

I've heard that the Gold colour will be available on MINI's from September 1st.... and I assume that must be when Silk Green's days will finally be numbered.

<Rant begins>

Bleughhh!

I'm not a Silk Green fan, but is Gold really the best they could do for a new colour?

Who is this aimed at? Those menopausal women who go to bad nightclubs? Guys who think their Versace shirt & jeans ideally complement their white shoes & chest wig?

I'm baffled

Why Gold when there are perfectly good shades of blue, green, orange, etc. that suit the car just so much better

Tsk!

Was in the dealers at the weekend they said green is gone now!
Was reading the auto express reprint the other day it was given out at dealers last year.
The cover shot is of a gold cooper mid air.
Kind of a champagne colour with white roof looks good

Is this the color that was previously referred to as "Coin"?

How about an all-chrome "color" called "Cylon" for Minty and Monsta? ***** to keep polished, though.

About silk green being discontinued (OR DROPPED FOR GOLD)....I spoke to my dealer (hahaha) this morning and she has not heard anything. She doubts BMW would discontinue any colour. If they did stop silk green, would this effect me in any way/ repairs etc?

Basil - Anyone who wants a pink Mini and owns a gold Forester is inviting trouble

Apologies, though, to any non-menopausal nightclubbing ladies for my ill-considered gold-ist remarks - - Must get myself on a HRT programme to cure those hot flushes

Have no fear, the information I have given is correct.

And when it's confirmed, you can tell your dealer you told them so!

It wouldn't affect any repairs or warranty work either.

Something strange.....

maybe Neon Orange would have been a better alternate color than GOLD!

Would I spec a car in gold? Never.

Maybe it's different across the pond, but I was told Silk Green would be available until December and Solid Gold wouldn't be available until around that time.

Snow creates a chemical imbalance in most peoples brains that makes them forget how to drive.
