Showing speed on trip computer

I have just purchased a Mini Cooper S (sept 2002 model) and want to try and display the speed in the rev counter trip computer display, but when I cycle through the various trip options, I get average speed, outside temp, mpg, and range, but no current speed. My car is a sept 2002 model so have I got an old trip computer, and can the new latest one be fitted?

Thanks
Tesh

The old trip computer only shows what you have described, I think it is an old standard one from the BMW range.

The new one also shows Digital speed and Instantous MPG as well as average. Unless you have Sat Nav or the Chrono pack when they don't give you the digital speedo.

Your local MINI dealer should be able to tell you if it can be upgaded. It should only be a software upgrade.

The instanenous speed (+ fuel consumption) was added after your car was built. Yours just won't do it, and that I know of, no one has found an easy and cheap upgrade, but it could exist.

Sorry, but there's lots of other fun things to play with.

Also, most people get used to the center speed after a few weeks anyway, so if you've just gotten the car, you may not care about the digital readout in a bit anyway.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.
