Help me solve window mystery

Can anyone explain this stange occurence:

I was detailing my MCS today, wash, Zaino, vacuum, etc. In the midst of the process I noticed that my windows had dropped open about two inches and my sunroof had also popped open. I didn't see it happen, but I know I started with everything shut tight and I never touched the key - not intentionally anyway.

I've had the car almost two years and this has never happened before. Does anyone know what could have triggered it?

Thanks.

Tom

Maybe if the key was in your pocket it might of accidentally been held down and activated the comfort opening?

I don't even know what the "comfort opening is." Can you tell me how to activiate it so I can test your theory out?

Hi, If you hold down the unlock button on your Key, for more than about 3/4 seconds-the windows should lower and sunroof (if fitted) will open

That happened to me one day, walking back to my MINI and the windows were down about 5 inches or so, though I left them open the whole time I was gone, but then I figured out it was the comfort opening!

Hmmm....

This has happened to me FOUR times. Twice where the windows and sunroof were partially open as described above and twice (including this morning) where the windows and sunroof were completely open.

Y'know, I would think that I would hear my windows going down if it happened when I was right there. And I've had this car for only a few months.

Are you guys sure it was this "comfort feature"? How do you disable it?

You can go to your dealer and have them de-program this function.

It is all to easy to operate the buttons on a car key by mistake. I've had it happen on most of the remote key cars I've had. A couple of days ago the other car unlocked as I got out of the MINI, 'cos I had its key in my pocket.

The Audi/VW keys folded out, and I added a switch to that so that it wouldn't work unless folded out. There's no easy fix like that for the MINI one.

Yeah happened me before too, came back to the car, must have held my finger on the button without noticing - I thought it was having some sort of seizure lol. It happens aswell if you hold down the locking switch inside for a few seconds.
