First Aid Kit and Warning Triangle

My March 2003 MC has these - I didn't order them and noticed in the brochure for my MCS that they are an option. Did anyone else get them with their car? I wasn't sure whether my dealer had thrown them in as it was a friend that sold me the car and as they couldn't give me dicsount they were trying to help me out elsewhere.

Also wasn't sure if it was somethng that came as standard on the 2003 model but not on the 2005? Does anyone know? Did you get these bits?

Think I will be removing them and putting them in my MCS though!!!!

Yes it is attached under the parcel shelf. I did wonder if they had been thrown in by the dealer but as my Beetle ahd them as standard I wasn't sure!

It's a MINI - everything is optional apart from 4 wheels and an engine

Standard in Germany

I've got a one year old imported MCS from Germany because a new MCS with al the options I want are over 35.000 euro here in the Netherlands. In Germany the triangle and first aid kit are obligatory by law and therefore 'standard'. I already got a new parcel shelf (under warranty from my Dutch dealer) because the first shelf was bend because of the weight of the triangle. The second one holds up well, maybe it's a modified one. For those who haven't seen I uploaded a picture I had at hand, it's the blue box.

I also got a hazard triangle since they're mandatory here too. But mine just sits in the bottom of the boot. The dealer said there is no special holder/attachment for it even though one seems to be described in the manual

I got them in my MCS, but I did specify them as a £25 optional extra. As far as I'm aware it's always been an extra cost option in the UK, but obviously a standard fit in countries where it's a legal requirement.

There are several areas where specs differ in different markets - for example (unless things have changed in the last couple of years) I believe that the US gets head airbags as standard which are extra in the UK, but the MCS in Ireland doesn't get the factory fit alarm which is standard in the UK.

Absolutely not true. The mounting kit consists of two plastic brackets (one of which is hinged so you can remove the triangle) that fit over the four "posts" on the underside of your rear parcel shelf. You need to order the screws separately that attach the whole thing, although appropriately-sized self-tapped sheet metal-type screws work just as well.
