MCS v Tesco shopping trolley...........

Yep, after owning two different MINIs since May 2002 and keeping them scratch free, we have finally succumbed to the power of the USELESS B*****D WITH A TESCO SHOPPING TROLLEY.
Countless trips we have had to endure from the far reaches of the car park where no one else will park because 'its too far to the door', just to have this happen to us.
We dont deserve it....
Yes, we now have a lovely straight scratch on the door of our MCS where the t**t hit first, then a nice curly one where the t**t has realised what it has obviously done and pulled the trolley backalong the car door. Nice move!!
After visiting the guy who done my colour coding, he said the only cure is a full door spray. Cost approx. £70, so its not so bad, in fact possibly cheaper than Chips Away et al having a go.
Moral of this sad tail...............internet shopping, or just stop shopping.
mmmmmmmmmmm.........the latter does sound better altogether.

Happy new year.........and may a thousand shopping trolleys rumble over your grave every night you useless shopper!!

i have had my mini for 6 months and no trolley rage Yet. But my brother owns a mini and he has to park at shopping center every day and his doors have loads of small dents from other cars. i wish people would be more thoughtfully about other peoples pride and joy.

A good idea, anyone listening from the mighty supemarket giants, would maybe to have a section of their huge car parks specially cordened off for people who like to take care of their car and would gladly pay say £1 or £2 to ensure their car was looked after whilst parked. Even down to a guy watching every car being parked and occupants being unloaded without damaging other cars.
Bound to be worthwhile to the shops, because if say there was an Asda, Tesco & Morrisons in my area and only one of them did this service I would go to the one that offered it.
I want to go shopping and not have to shell out approx. £70 to repair my car afterwards.

Andy, I always go to the far reaches of the car parks as well, but being Chrimbo time this T**T must'nt have had anywhere else to go that was nearer the door to the shop.
I've tried the lot over the years, disabled spaces, parent & child, park over the dividing line to take up two spaces etc.

Lets have a 'Looking after my car space' in these car parks!! or even valet parking, they do it in the malls in America.

Then, I'm afraid, you're just as bad. Totally inconsiderate to others.

One of my pet hates is the person who simply leaves the trolley in the adjacent space or somewhere else thats NOT in the trolley bays.

I recently ripped at some woman who having filler her micra up with the 5 kids (YES, 5 Kids - dont' micras only have 4 seats?) and numerous shopping bags, and simply left the trolley in the space between her car and mine on a Windy day.

The words I used were something on the lines of "what the f* are you doing you retarded cow, leaving a trolley where the wind can blow it into someone elses car. Do you realise that car there is MY car, now I suggest yuo MOVE that trolly otherwise I might be tempted to give the wind a hand in blowing back at your car"

She looked at my blankly. At that point, I realised I'd lost and that I was faced with someone who literally has done absolutely nothing in her life except jump when her bully husband told her to. I momentarily felt pity... here we have a lady who, for probably the past 5 - 7 years of her life has had to carry, give birth to and bring up a screaming bunch of dirty children whilst her husband probably lived off the welfare benefits.

Then I looked at my £14,500 car and thought hell no. I've worked HARD for this car and I'm not going to let ANYONE risk damaging it regardless of their situation. I simply turned round and just said "YOU really should be more careful where you leave your trolley".

I was infuriated. IF the trolley had been caught by a gust of wind, it could have caused a fair bit of damage.

You should have taken it back and got the pound out When I get my new mini i'll be parking it next to the guard hut so it'll be hard for them to miss anything going wrong! I generally walk to the supermarket anyway, advantage of living in the city centre

.

Now I find this comment a right pain

Being disabled myself - I saved hard to get my MINI yes we all like our cars but and when I go out somewhere and find somewhere to park I find most places taken up by other "inconsiderate" drivers a right pain when I have to walk from the furthest part in the car park just to go to the shop

Yes the bays are bigger, but that is for a reason - namely we need more room to get our wheelchairs in

I have blocked several people in the bays before today and carried on shopping

If the disabled motorist clubs got their ways it would cost you more in a fine if you misused any disabled car parking bays

Please try and be more considerate to Yellow Disabled Bay users in future

You have a little rant about getting your motor damaged at the supermarket car park and look what happens.........................

Apologies to all that have been offended and anyone that is thinking of being offended.

Chill.......................I'm the one with the scratched door and feeling slightly offended!!

Same thing

Same thing happened to me. This was at a "new age" food market where people pride themselves at being politically in tune with all of nature. Someone let go of their cart. I watched it coming at me and couldn't respond fast enough. This after two years of parking well and away from everyone. And I wasn't even parked yet!

Enjoy your walk p***k.

Maybe its Karma then, for all the disabled spaces you have parked in over the years?

And one other thing, insulting other members just isn't tolerated on here, please be respectful to others on the boards, thank you...........

I'm off now to edit your posts - the swear filter is there for a reason.............

Sorry to hear about your MINI Paul, its not nice, it always seems to happen to my car within 3 days of picking them up from the dealer

One of the reason I now park away from all 4x4 (SUV's), and any car that has those rubbber protectors on the doors ( a clear sign they don't give a damn or have a habbit of just letting the door swing), its a pain having to park further away, but worth it to protect my car.

hope it polishes out with meguirs scratch X, if not try chips away, they are normally good at removing marks and dents
