Offline | The World/UK/London Mini Drivers "Get Waving" Campaign It seems just recently that every where I go I see loads of Mini's!! For example I've just been to Tesco's at Roneo Corner in Romford and in the car park was four Dark Silver Mini Cooper S's!! The only differences were age and roof colour. Perhaps its this part of Essex, where we are all fully gripped by the "Chav" culture or maybe its just the Mini isn't that unique anymore who knows?? Offline | You been to central or West London recently? The streets are like a MINI2 run! (OK I exaggerate a little) The MINI is now selling as much as the VW Polo and Renault Clio, and it's also the country's best selling convertible! More reason than ever to make a few choice modifications! ![]() |

Offline | Cars are expensive here in the Netherlands because of goverments tax. If I see one other MCS a month (or even less) I'm lucky. I know of about 3 other Mini's I have seen regurly where I live. I have NEVER seen another Dutch Electric Blue like I have on the public road. Hence the fact that most Dutch people still turn their head when they see me driving ![]() EB/W R53 MCS Highly Modified |

Offline | Berthill, you'd be in for a massive shock if you came over to the UK as you will see Mini's every where!! MaxxUK, It isn't just the West, London is full of Mini drivers!! I've noticed though that you don't see many waving to each other?! Perhaps that's to do with London driving where you have to have that "take no prisoners" attitude to survive getting around!!! |

Offline | LOL, could have been me, I have a girlfriend in Tilburg and some family between Tilburg and Breda while I live in the south near Maastricht. Here in Holland most of the time we wave to eachother because we don't see to many other Mini's. But sometimes woman are behind the wheel and it seems like they are not the most observant drivers and do not always wave back ![]() EB/W R53 MCS Highly Modified |

| MINI Nut | MINI's are still a rare sight here in S.A. I would think that in a city like Johannesburg there will be more, but down on the South Coast, I don't see that many. There's a handful of MINI's in town, but weeks can pass before I spot another MINI. Since the introduction of the MINI to our local shores in 2002, I've only seen 3 other PW MINI's, exl. mine - one in a showroom, and 2 others parked. The most common colours locally are red, followed by black, blue, silver, yellow, green.... and the least common is a PW and a darkish red/purple colour, have only seen and early model in that colour once. Went to Cape Town once, 2nd largest city in S.A., and only saw 2 other MINI's over the whole weekend... |

Offline | There are obviously MINIs everywhere in N.I. too, but I seem to be (just about) the only ds one in the town where I live. Have seen a couple of others since I got mine last year, but they've nearly all been ds/b. It's great- I love turning heads... Maybe something to do with telling my dealer he wasn't allowed to sell any ds/w MINIs to anyone within a 30 mile radius of me ![]() |

Offline | I live East where my MINI shines like a shiny bauble in a row of clapped out Nissans and Escorts, which is why it has received unwanted attention recently You're right Londoners are too miserable, or too busy trying to cut you up to wave. I have NEVER had a response in London, but when I drive up North you get more response. Even I am too busy worrying about whether some idiot is going to pull out on me/cut me up/run a red light etc to wave - it's like being on a banger racing track half the time with you pride and joy as no1 target! |

Offline | Is waving between owners a common thing in the US, I wonder? Just curious. Would be fun. As someone with one just on order... almost... well, I'm uninitiated, still. Got great news! My car may be built around the week of Feb 7th. Not too, too far off, eh? Yippeee!!! :-D |

Offline | I live on the East Coast, in the Baltimore/D.C. area. I've seen one MINI in D.C., I've seen a couple around Baltimore. There's a college student up the street who has an MC, and I see her every month or so. I drive a LOT, and I only see another MINI on the road once or twice a week. Then, on Christmas Eve day, I went to the local supermarket and I saw FOUR MINIs parked in the same lot--the most I've ever seen in one place, excluding meets. And guess what? I was driving the family Honda Odyssey! I wave, flash and beep at any MINI I see, and try to either catch up to them or slow down to let them catch up to me--it's always fun to play "tag"! |

Offline | Perhaps I should start a "WAVE WHEN YOU SEE ANOTHER MINI" Campaign in London?? Its the same with motorbikes though, I bike to London everyday from Essex. When I see another biker (excluding 16yr old wannabe homeboy's on 50cc hairdryer's!!) I'll nod and nearly all nod back. As soon as you get near London (Just under the A406 on the A13 to be precise!!) the nodding stops and the darkness begins!!! It is utter madness, I've pulled over a couple of times along the Embankment and thought "F**k this for a game of soliders" after seeing my life flash before my eyes again. Ok for all the London Mini drivers out there from now on its official you must wave to each other or if your with friends/family or someone else a sly nod will do!!! PS, If you see a bloke on a red CBR 600 motor bike you can wave at me as well but don't try and knock me off!! |

Offline | Ooooooh you are treading on very dangerous ground there Berthill I drive in north London every day and to be honest minis are ten a penny! I got soooo fed up with waving like a loonie only to have some stuck up person give me the "drop dead" stare so I have now given it up......but only in London! Once outside London I hardly see any minis and those I do see always smile or wave! |

Offline | I agree Minnie! I'm in Shropshire, only been a MINI owner for a week, but have seen plenty of MINIs.. no one has waved back at me though My OH thinks I am mad now and looks suitably embarassed when I wave, he says that I should stop cos no ones waving back! We've had landrovers before now and other Landy owners always waved back (I'm talking proper Landy's here, 90s 110s and defenders, not range rovers and freelanders ) so being ignored is sddening, especially as I was looking forward to being part of the 'club' Spendles ![]() |
