Question What's your dealer experience?

I am waiting with great anticipation for our Mini One to be collected on Friday 24th at lunchtime, therfore time to spare to ask anyone else this question:

Has your dealer answered a question with an explanition which has had you wondering just exactly how much he(or she) knows abou BMW'S product.

During the pleasurable ordering process I was told that I would not be able to order the X-lite alloy wheels for my Mini One as "the offset would interfere with the arches"
same body shell I said, but "Won't work" was the answer.

The second was two weeks before delivery (Friday 24th May,I will pay extra to get it now!) I phoned to ask if I could reserve some white indicator units for the wings (too much time on this site) and my dealer told me "There might be a legal problem with fitting these alone without fitting the white rear light clusters" problem in what sense I asked "They might not be legal under UK law"

Yes, I think you will all agree this guy gave totally absurd answers, what do you think?

The off sets on the Cooper S are differant to that of the Cooper and One. Someone posted on here about the S spokes having differant Off Sets for the Cooper and Cooper S, so that is where I got that from.

As for the clear side repeaters being illegal without the rear one's he really is talking out of his ****! I mean where the hell can he get that from!

The only thing that is illegal is if you put the rear White Light Clusters in without the Red reflector strips.

I have the white side repeaters and wasn't told any B*****K's like that from 2 differant dealers (Ended up getting mine from a differant dealer to the one I purchased the car off)

I say order the side repeaters and ignore them.

Can't offer any suggestions for the X lites as don't know if they'll make them with a differant Off set. COuld be wrong about the off set though, only going of what I've read on here!

Glad I am not the only one who thought it was strange.

I ordered the 16 inch five stars instead and as for the indicators, I will explain the error of his ways on Friday.

I don't understand rocket science but I can think of an appropriate place to shove it (perhaps friday as well, ONCE THE CAR IS MINE!!!)

Your dealer does sound odd!

Anyway, when I was looking at the One I was gonna have x-lite wheels.....there was gonna have to be some alteration....what I can't remember....but it is posible....expensive thou!

I changed my mind and had a Cooper instead with 5 spoke 16's

Hmmm.. don't like the sound of your dealer, sounds almost as if they are an American one!

I got mine from Chandlers in Portslade, West Sussex and they were superb. I recommend them for any of you ghost users who like to read our lovely posts!!!
