M/S Medea Departs Southampton

M/S Medea sets sail from Southampton on May 23rd bound for Jacksonville, Fl. (2 June), Brunswick, Ga. (3 June), through the canal (10 June), and Port Hueneme, Ca. (19 June) with 275 MINIs on board (45 5-Speed Coopers, 181 Cooper S (!) and 49 Cooper CVTs).

I don't recall Jax or Brunswick as being MINI POEs so I assume they're all headed for the west coast.

I'll leave it to west coast expectant owners to learn from existing threads how to tell whether their baby's on board.

Not every stop is a MINI VPC. BMW/MINI VPC's are New York (well really NJ), Charleston, and Port Hueneme.

These ships are huge. They can carry ~6000 cars. So the 245 MINI's are only a small part of the cargo. Thus, it's just like a cross country bus ride. They might not want to stop everywhere along the way, but they have no say in the matter.

I'm currently working near the docks in southampton and i was wondering why I kept seeing lots of transporters stacked up with mini's, now I know. I think the electic blue is my favorite colour out of all the ones I have seen so far, it's a shame I couldn't have it on my cooper.

5400 on Medea, to be exact. The Jax and Brunswick stops could easily be to offload Beemers and Volvos.

Five MINIs were removed from the booking list prior to setting sail -- two 5-speeds, 1 six-speed, and 2 CVTs.

Hope yours wasn't one of them.
