Offline | I just can't stop It's like a sickness. I've had my mcs for almost 3 months now. I make up the smallest reasons to drive it. I forget things at the store on purpose. I still wake up when I hear noises from the street in the middle of the night and go out to see what's happening that might affect my car. I obsess about the detailing. I'm incredibly careful about where I park it to avoid dings and scratches, even though it's already got a couple. I've been hunting down every last curve in the road within 100 mile of my house, plotting my line and going back over and over again until I hit it perfectly every time. I take it out at 3 o'clock in the morning and slide it around corners when I can't sleep. I take "driving breaks" instead of coffee breaks at work. And worst of all, I think I want another one with the JCW kit, you know, for weekends. What is happening to me? Will it ever stop? And do I really want it to stop? Seriously, I'm having a blast, and I knew I would, but not like this. Anybody else get this? |

Offline | Don't even get started on washing the MCS.... Yep, you're there man. I'm at seven months and it's still like new. The MCS is so small, I can now give it a good wash and buff in 10 minutes, which, depending on the weather, I may do at least once, sometimes twice a week. It's particularly bad now, with the weather below freezing and a lot of salt on the roads. I'm continually in search of a good brushless automatic car wash that isn't busy--the Holy Grail of Mini Owners. I park in the "snob lot" at work--that is, as far from the front door as possible so no one else will park near me. A couple of guys with Corvettes, 7 and 3 series BMWs, and a Range Rover are my only neighbors. Yep, I look back at it as I walk in from the parking lot. Yep, I'm continually researching maps for new and or faster routes to and from places, trying to figure out traffic light routines and parking lot shortcuts. Yep, I'm out in the country driving on curves quite a bit. Obsessive? Perhaps. Then again I've seen people act this way about their golf clubs or clothes, and they are considered "normal". |

Offline | And yea, I want two, too. Yep, I'd like to keep the one I've got and get an MCS convertible for the sunny days. I've thought about the JCW, maybe in the MCSC, and use the other MCS for snow days and commuting? |

Offline | Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I think I need to let my girlfriend drive it so she'll stop giving me those looks, though......but then she'll want one, too. That means we'll have at least three and maybe four if I play my cards right. This could work out. If only there were some way she could drive it without touching the pedals or steering wheel.......maybe I should rent one for the weekend..... Or maybe I should just stop thinking about it and go for a drive. |

Offline | You all seem normal to me! No more pizza delivery for this house ! My wife when we first bought the car a year ago she didn't see the big deal and didn't actually like the car that much. Now she is talking about wanting a convertable MINI. OK by me!Tavis1 ![]() ![]() "There can be only one" |
