Offline | Macs and Minis? Just joined after lurking for a couple of weeks. My MCS is on order for March delivery. It looks to me as if a relatively large percentage of Mini drivers are also Macintosh users (compared to the computer-using public in general). Without starting an Apple vs. Windows war, I'd like to ask how many regulars on these forums use a computer as unique as their ride. Ahhh! Just discovered two 2003 threads on same question. One was a survery in which Macs scored better than 40% preference rate among respondents. Given than world-wide usage is in the low single digit percentages, looks to me like Mac and Minis are a a natural combination. Last edited by Mac&Mini : Jan 28th, 2005 at 01:45 AM. Reason: Discovered earlier survey on same topic |

Offline | I'm am former Mac user who's been squished by the business world into the Wintel Conspiracy (how else could so many otherwise intelligent people be duped into an inferior HW and SW architecture, if it's not a conspiracy?). I'm think of buying a Mac notebook though, to add to the 5-6 windows machines I have around the house. I do dabble with linux to succor my rebellious streak.... Offline | Firstly, welcome to this forum. You'll find it a great source of information. Secondly, I have a 1Ghz iMac with 256mb ram and 80Gb drive...... is that techy enough? (for a car site at least). Thirdly, I have a 2003 BRG MCS and am loving every minute of it. I think that it's a natural progression to buy things that are funking and different - MINI and iMac pretty much fall into that bracket. Enjoy your time on here. Dutchy. Sadly INIMINI is gone, but never forgotten. |

Offline | I even posted some pics of my mini over at a www.appleinsider.com before Macworld. Within minutes after the specs of the Mac mini were made available @ apple.com I measured to see if I could stuff a new Mac mini in the bottom space between the two down pipes and to my surpise it would fit. ![]() Fight for the smallest minority- "The Individual". |

Offline | Poor Ford. Its bad enough they stole all the interior seat design from BMW in The Range Rover! And now all their seats in their cars such as the ford 500 aka downsized(cheap version) Audi A6, lol But anyway their trucks now have WELL designed SEATS in their trucks that look like, what could it be the e38 BMW 7 series seats, no it cold not be but it is!!!!-alpinamike |

Offline | Dual G4 here, wife has an iBook, my original Mac Classic sits on a file cabinet as a decoration piece, and in the corner sits a Windows Athlon machine I built myself which basically gathers dust when not being used as a glorified Xbox. Started with the Apple II+, have owned a dozen or so Macs over the years, and a couple of PCs just because I enjoy pain once in awhile. I use Windows 40+ hours a week at the "day job."OS X rocks! |

| Peanut Groupie | Apolgies for hijacking the thread but... I have a laptop and Pc at home which are both on a wireless network (Thomson speedtouch). If I got a mac mini or a mac laptop, would it be straightforward to add it to my existing wireless network? It's a bit relevant as this is the key to converting me to a maccie user! |

Offline | Beastmaster - I wanted to connect exactly the same way. My desktop is running a DLink wireless network which my laptop uses via a USB wireless card. I managed to get a techie bloke to get the Emac to access the same wireless connection too. He said something about 128 WEP encryption, fiddled around with it for about 15 mins and had it all up and running. 260909 ![]() |

Offline | Can't say for your brand since I've never heard of it but I have attached to: D-Link Linksys Cisco Aeronet Apple Base Station Buffalo Access Point (can't remember the model) Have used Wintel boxes along with these. Normally it's easier to set up the Mac than an XP or 2000 box. |
