I was going to do that too...!

Unfortunately for me, I wanted the rarer black metal S (didn't want to pay rare prices, though ) so was looking well before I got my car. Hadn't seen one for a few weeks then one was available so had to buy before getting lil' Sphinx...

Was going to post a picture, but there seems to be a problem with uploading... ?

Will put it on in a few days...

Golly all these sweet offers! Thanks guys.

I will try to do it unaided as I'm quite dextrous when I want to be... but I have (typically) 'mislaid' (NOT lost.. ) my allen key so please Tony can you send me one?! And you of all people should know that I'll never sell my little Rocket, even for getting a years road tax. And while I'm asking... what level of service do you think I require? I'm low-maintenance!

Hey Susan (as Spudd calls you!),

I've got a spare spares kit if you want it - new sticky pads, allen key and spare screws. I just don't have a MINI to attach my holder onto. Let me know if you want it.

Read all the way through this thread hoping no one uses my method
It's just gotta be straight, so, remove all allen screws, carefull not to lose them behind the dash and remove the back plate.
Now, in true Blue Peter fashion, well half anyway, using some sellotape cut some small strips, position the tax disc on the plastic piece and fold over the sellotape to "hold" the disc onto the plastic piece.
Now attach more strips to the back of the plastic piece such that half of the strip is on the plastic and the other half will stick to the holder that is still on the windscreen.
Be sure the strip does not protrude beyond the holder, voila, securely in place and as straight as a straight thing

England Ripspeed Holder

I’ve bought a tax-disc holder from Halfords. Chrome with a mesh on the back. Made by Ripspeed. I might take a pic of the car and put it behind the mesh. Otherwise sounds the same sort of holder as everyone else.

Ha! I tried that and i wished i'd done it myself - all (10) srews were taken out and the back plate was put on skew-whiff and then it was stuck in the middle of the passenger side of the windscreen. D'oh! Last time i play the dumb blonde.

I used your method Bonnie Scotland but without the sellotape - such nimble fingers have I!!! It looks great and I've proud of my efforts. I am also very grateful to all of you lot for being so helpful.
