I was at my dealers today with a friend who's interested in getting a One. I asked him how long the wait was now and he said late September for Coopers and early October for Ones!!! Ohmygod!!! When I ordered my car it was a 12 week wait, and Ones had a 3 week wait as far as I can remember!

How things have changed, I would have thought the Cooper and One lists would have gone down a bit with the release of the Cooper S.

He also said that the Electric Blue should be available on Ones and Coopers at the beginning of Q4 2002, as well as Gold and Deep Purple also being released at the same time. It seems that many new colours are to be introduced into the range.

He confirmed the cloth sunroof thing and said that the cabrio will probably be a 4 seater, because it doesn't narrow down the possible buyer range that a 2 seater would. He also said that he had heard rumours that a 2 seater cabrio may also be put into production later on, to further widen the range.

It seems as if the MINI range is going to get bigger and bigger, with loads of different models. I have to say that idea is not particulaly appealing to me as I like the idea of it being exclusive and *special*. At least the waiting lists are long!

The MINI is definitely getting more popular. My local dealer has sold all of his Ones and Coopers and only has the showroom car and demo's which he can't sell until replacements arrive.

I was under the impression that they are winding down One and Cooper production for the launch of the S.

Still, if I get an S it won't be from my local dealer - they're pants!

Gold - dont do it!!!!! it looks horrid

with the dealer saying about purple and new colours coming online, Im sure I read here that Paul said that they can only produce 12 colours at a time, so with new colours others ahve to go, and the only one which has been stated on here is the green going for the gold

I was in my dealers last week and he said if I came in today and ordered a Cooper from him, I would have to wait until January 2003!!! Getting close to Feb '03 for an "S"!! because they have sold their whole quota of Coopers and "S"'s for this year already!!!

I guess that's why every other car around by me seems to be a MINI these days!!

but would it be good or would it go the other way

if there are loads on the road then the price will drop as people will be able to shop around when buying 2nd hand as as such it will be a buyers market?
