Chrome gaiter ring…

Laying on my bed last night, pondering what to do to my car next – I was thinking of the chrome interior additions. I didn’t spec this on my new Cooper, as I didn’t like the overall impression it gave, especially the rings around the central speedo and rev counter. However, I would like to install just the chrome gaiter (gearlever) ring. I went to the dealership this morning to enquire about said item, but they didn’t have the part number on their system. If anyone with a chrome line interior in their MINI or someone with a parts number database could please supply me with the parts number for just this single item. I’m sure you will be able to buy this separately, right? Further question – how does the said item hold-up in everyday life? I like doing subtle changes (dunno if there is a term for this) to my car. People should look at my car, and wonder what is different!

u could go with the factory one, but it is plastic, not real metal

i went with a r-speed trilogy of rings that include a tach, speedo, and shift gaiter ring surround... they still show the silver around it but i mean it looks badass, and it is real metal!

part no for chrome gear gaiter ring is 51.45.7.132.400 if you want the chrome speedo surround too the part no for that is 51.16.7.131.186


and the gaiter ring is a piece of cake to fit

villa mini.... hmmmmm, you swopped the parts no.'s around

They had to order it from Germany, and they send me the speedo ring. So I had to re-order the gaiter ring. I bought the speedo ring, 'cause I felt obliged as I supplied them with the part no. Now I've just got very bruised fingers getting that bl@@dy speedo ring off, and still noooooo success Tips anyone in removing it?
