Hi All,

Does anyone know the time it takes between a MINI leaving the the Oxford Factory Paint shop until it enters the assembly line?

I just had a call from my MINI dealer saying that my MCS has left the Paint shop today

(initially thought have been Monday). But he was unsure if there is suppose to be a waiting time before it enters the assembly line.

I am not working next week and thought I might be able to work in a Plant Visit and maybe see my baby being born!

Am I crazy or what? My dealer gave me the VIN number and said that I should be able to trace it that way.

Is it a good idea? Do they mind this kind of "behavior"

at the factory or should I contain myself and wait for my delivery day at the dealership??

I thought that paint shop was one of the last stages. ASK-MINI said I was in the paint shop one day, and the next day my car was done and on the way to Southhampton.

It doesn't stay on the assembly line long. Don't they churn out like 600 MINIs a day?

my car left the paintshop at 2pm on a Thursday, assembly was completed the next morning at around 11am

betting your car has even left the factory now, on her way to Thorn for PDI, thats about 2 days there then into the dealers probably Tuesday
