Liquid Yellow Cooper S

I ordered a Liquid Yellow Cooper S on Monday. It will have black roof, black mirrors, and black stripes. I had a little trouble deciding on the grille. The one I saw in the showroom had a yellow grille. It looked hot, but since I've started looking, I had my heart set on a chrome grille. So, I ordered the chrome grille. I liked that one best from the configurator. What's bothering me now is that I can't find a single picture of a yellow Cooper S with a chrome grille. Is this an odd thing to order on a yellow Cooper S with the other items I mentioned? I guess I shouldn't second guess myself, but I find it odd that all of the others have the yellow painted grille and I chose something different. Anyone else seen a setup like I've mentioned? If so, does it look good?

It's standard to have a body-coloured grille on the S. Likewise chrome for the Cooper and black for the One. I didn't know you could order differently

If you do a search of the galleries you should find plenty of pics of yellow Coopers with chrome grilles, then you'll just have to imagine the "letter-box" of the S

i have never seen one. i wanted to go down that route myself. i got a 2nd hand chrome grill off ebay,and fitted to my beloved S. it looked out of place,so i fitted the yellow grill back on.

The black Aero grille would look well!! Check my gallery for the chrome/Yellow/Black stripes. Just No vent in the bonnet!

Liquid Yellow is such a great color on a MINI!

I cannot say that I have ever seen a chrome grill on a LY MINI...

It sounds like I've made a mistake. I'll have to check with my salesman to see if it's too late to change my mind. The chrome exterior items look great on my husband's electric blue MINI, but I'm really skeptical about the chrome with the setup I selected.

I definitely agree about the black aero grille - that looks hot. I ran into a guy this past weekend though who was having problems with the paint on his, so it kind of made me think twice about it until I learned more. Definitely looks hot though.

The chrome grill looks just fine on LY Coopers so why would it not look fine on a Cooper S?

If you want chrome then stick with your choice, it is your car.

I had a chrome grill on my LY/B Cooper - it looked cool
I now have a LY grill on my LY/B MCS - it looks good

Whatever you go for it will look the bees knees cos it's in the right colour combi!

Don't worry a chrome grill will look great. Also, most people who buy a mini do so because they strive for a bit of individuality. Sounds like you will be achieving that more than most so stick with it.

Thank you! You guys are so nice! I'm going to stick with my original choices, and wait patiently (ok, maybe not that part) until it gets here in a couple of months. I suppose I do like the idea of it being a little bit different...that's why I went with the Liquid Yellow in the first place.

I agree - it is a great color. We had been to two dealerships and I didn't even really look at the yellow ones. I was deciding between red w/ black roof and stripes and black w/ black roof and custom red stripes, and then we took a trip to another dealership a few days before I was to order, and there set a Liquid Yellow Cooper S with a black roof and black stripes. Had a couple of the options been different, I probably would have left with that one. I suppose ordering and waiting is part of the fun though. :-) I called my dad to tell him that I was deciding between red and yellow, and he said that there was no choice - definitely yellow! My stepmom and my sister aren't sold though. I told them they would just have to wait and see it. It will be so cute that you just won't be able to do anything but smile at it! Even my husband loves the yellow. He said it was lucky for me that he had already bought his EB one a few weeks earlier, or he would have taken the yellow one. Then where would I be!?
