Confessions of a US Mini driver
Has anybody seen this post on the bbc news site? It reminds me of my time in Miami - and the advertising campaign Mini had over in the US stating "Donate some gas to an SUV"!

can anyone tell me what the red lines/reflectors (not sure what they are) on the front wheel arches on the picture with this article. I have noticed this on a number of cars (only American I think) and just wondered what they were.

They are side marker reflectors that are reqiured by U.S. Dept of Transportation.

They are amber in the front and red int the rear and they light up when the lights are on.
